JAMES C. COVERT, OF VEST TROY, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A SLIDING BOLT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,952, dated January 8, 1895. Application filed November 17, 1894. Serial No. 529,187. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JAMES C. COVERT, a citizen of the United States, residing at West Troy, in the county of Albany and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Sliding Bolts; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
This invention relates to a new and original design for sliding bolts, and it consists in the peculiar shape hereinafter referred to and shown in the accompanying drawings, wherein Figure 1 represents an elevation of the bolt. Fig. 2 is a top plan view.
In the drawings A designates the point which is substantially conical shape or gradually tapered from the body portion B, the latter being substantially cylindrical and has the depressed sides C and depressed bottom portion D, the upper edge being straight as shown.
At the rear of the depressed portion is the narrow cylindrical portion E of a diameter substantially that of the cylindrical portion of the body B.
F designates the knob or actuating projection connected with the top of the body portion.
The leading feature of the design is the bolt as shown and above described.
Having thus described the invention, what is claimed as new is- The design for a sliding bolt, substantially as shown and described.
