DESIGN FOR A WATER-FRONT FOR STOVES OR RANGES.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,803, dated May 18, 1899.

He it known that I, ARTHUR B. CLUNIES, a citizen of the United States, residing at Rochester, Monroe county, New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a \Vater-Front for Stoves or Ranges, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.

Figure 1 is a perspective View of the Waterfront; Fig. 2, an end view thereof, and Fig. 3 a perspective view taken from the rear.

The leading feature of the design is the general shape and configuration of the waterfront, and particularly of the top, front, and ends. The upper panel or face 1 extends across the top, and the rear line thereof is substantially straight, forming the overhanging or depending flange 2, which is cut away upon one end to form the steps or notches 3 and 4. Upon one end of the upper side of the article is the surface 7, raised above the face 1 and connected to the latter by the curved surface 8. At the end of the surface 7 is the overhanging edge 9, having the steps or notches 10 and 11 at its rear edge.

One end of the water-front is broader and has the plain panel, forming the face 12. A rib or projection is located upon one side of the latter, extending at an angle to the upper face 1, having its top 13 in the plane of the latter and also having the face 14 parallel to the face 12, and extending from the bottom of the two latter faces is a flange 15. Upon this end of the water-front are formed the circular apertures 16 in the plain faces 16*, and between them are the notches 17 and 18.

The front face 5 of the water-front curves outward at 20 to meet the face 13 upon one end, and likewise at 21, joining the projecting point of the face 23, arranged at an angle to the face 5, and the adjoining panel 24, having the overhanging corner 26. Extending from the bottoms of the faces 23 and 24 is a small flange 35.

The rear face 27 of the article is provided with a small lug or projection 28, formed near the lower corner, and upon its opposite end it is cut away at 29, as shown, leaving a lug 30 in the bottom corner.
