BRACE PIECE FOB TABLE LEGS.
(Application Mod Apr. 2, 1900.)
nug guumag It ll UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOIIN GILSON, OF PORT W'ASHINGTON, \VISCONSIN.
DESIGN FOR A BRACEPIECE FOR TABLE-LEGS.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,625, dated May 1, 1900.- Application filed April 2, 1900. Serial No. 11,263. Term of patent 14 years.
T0 at whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, JOHN GILsoN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Port Washington, in the county of Ozaukee and State of Wiscofisimhave invented and produced anew and original Design for a Brace-Piece for Tatble-Legs; and I do herebydeclare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forminga part thereof.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 isaplan view, Fig. 2 a side elevation, and Fig. 3 a detail sectional view, taken on the line 3 30f Fig. 1, of a brace-piece for table-legs embodying my new design.
My design relates to the new and original shape or configuration of the article.
The leading or essential feature consists in the unitary design for a brace-piece for tablelegs made the subject of illustration, comprising the shape of the skeleton top, formed of three concavely-curved portions A A A, interrupted and united by the three short straight portions 13 B 1;, all on the same horizontal plane. From each one of the said short portions B there depends an outwardly-flaring flange 0, formed on an outer straight oblique line from top to bottom, there being parallelwallod perforations I) through the faces of said flanges (J. Between the front faces of each two adjacent flanges the brace-piecc is formed on concavely rounded lines corresponding to the curve of the portions A of the skeleton top and coinciding at the top with the outer curved line of said portions A, but
slightly flaring outwardly in a downward direction, so that the lower end of each flangeface is wider than the upper end thereof, and these portions E of the brace-piece between the flanges are of least depth at the center, where they are formed on a semicireularlower line, as shown between the pointsa a in Fig. 2, on each side of which the lower edge of each part E is formed on short straight horizontal lines, as indicated between the points a b (t b, and thence on rounded convex lines down to the bottom of the flanges C O, as indicated between the points Z) c b (r, and this just-described outline c b a a b c is substantially followed by an upper border-line, forming an ornamental edging F to the part E, which projects outwardly to a. slight distance beyond the outer surface of the said part Miner features of said design comprise a rounded boss G at the center of the skeleton top, connected byarms II ll II to the centers of the inner edges of the portions 1; 1 lot said skeleton top.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design fora brace-piece for table-legs, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
JOHN HILSON. Witnesses:
