UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
CHRISTIAN WVILLIAM MEINEGKE, OF JERSEY CITY, NEW JERSEY, ASSIGNOR TO MEINEOKE & (30., OF NEi/V YORK, N. Y.
DESIGN FOR A CUSHION.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,982, dated August 20, 1901.
Application filed May 29, 1901. Serial No. 62,438. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, CHRISTIAN WILLIAM MEINECKE, acitizen of the United States, residing at Jersey City, in the county of Hudson, in the State of New Jersey, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cushion, of which the following is a specification.
My invention relates to a new and original design for cushions, and is illustrated in the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a plan view. Fig. 2 is a front View. Fig. 3 is a side view.
The leading feature of my design resides in a cushion having a circular outline and an oval or oblong opening, with a taper at the front and rear points or portions of the cushion, the sides of the cushion being transversely convex on both their top and bottom surfaces and the said taper extending from the center of the sides of the cushion and terminating at the front and rear ends,as shown, and the portions of the cushion connecting the side members being also convex on both the upper and lower faces, but being of a reduced form, as shown.
In the said drawings the letter a indicates the outline of the cushion of circular shape.
The opening I) is shown of oval or oblong shape. At the front and rear pointsc the cushion is tapered, as shown, said taper commencing at a point centrally of the side members of the cushion, so that the top and bottom face portions of the cushion gradually approach one another. The sides of the cush- 3 5 ion are transversely convex on both their top and bottom surfaces, as shown, and the por= tions of the cushion connecting the side mem' bers are also convex on both the upper and lower faces, but are of reduced or contracted 40 form, as shown.
The design presents a cushion having a novel, pleasing, and distinguished appearance.
That I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a cushion substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
" CHRISTIAN WILLIAM MEINECKE.
