To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that l, \VILLIAM KILLION, a citizen of the United States, residing in Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and original Design for Horseshoe-Pads, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.

As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the configuration of the pad formed with the base, having forwardly-projecting steps, a being the front edge, concave or formed on a curve or are, as shown; 11, the rear edge, on a straight line; 0 c, forwardly-projecting steps the surf aces of which are inclined upward toward the rear, the inner edges (1 rounded or curved at the corners, and the outer edges 0 slightly curved, as illustrated. The lift or pad proper, f, extends up from the base and has a flat surface, its front edge It being beveled back from the front edge a, and conforming to the curvature of said front edge. The curvature is on such an are as to produce the forward extensions f at the inner edges of the steps 0, the outer sides of the said extensions being vertical. The rear edge 9 of the pad is on a straight line and is set slightly forward from the edge b, so as to produce a ledge 21. The edges or sides of the pad follow the curvatures of the base.
