\A/ITBIESVSEE 6%. 94/. 98/ QXZZZ UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
WILLIAM KILLION, OF BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS.
DESIGN FOR A HORSESHOE-PAD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 32,554, dated April 24, 1900,
Application filed March 26,1900. Serial No 10,294. Term of patent 14 years Tu n77 whom fl: may concern.-
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM KILLION, a citizen of the United States, residing in Boston, in the countyof Sulfolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented a new and original Design for Horseshoe-Pads, of which the following is n specification, reference being had to the accompanying dmwings, forming part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of my horseshoe-pad, taken from the upper side. Fig. 2 is a perspective View of the same, taken from the under side. Fig. 3 is a side elevation. Fig. l is a front elevation.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the configuration of the pad formed with the base having forwardly-projecting steps, a being the front edge, and b the rear edge, both straight and parallel with each other, and c for Wardly-projecting steps, the inner edges (Z of which are substantially at right angles with the edge u and the surfaces being inclined upward toward the rea r and the opposite side edges I being curred, as shown. The lift or pad proper, f, extends up from the base and has a flat surface, its front edge 7L being sub stantially at right angles with said surface and parallel with the edge a, but at a little to the rear therefrom, so as to prod uee a ledge m. The rear edge 9 of the padf is substantially parallel with the edgeh and set forward from the edge 1), so as to produce an edge n. The edges or sides of the pad follow the curvatures of the base. The upper cornerol' the front edge It is hollowed out centrally at 7:, so as to form the concave shape shown, and the edge It is recessed or notched at its opposite ends, as shown at I, and slightly beveled, as illustrated. Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for n horseshoe-pad, as herein shown and described.
WILLIAM KILLION.
