DESIGN FOR A HORSESHOE-PAD.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 35,621, dated January 28, 1902.
Application filed December 20,1901. Serial No. 86,712- Term of patent 14: years.

Be itknown that we,JoHN Anson BUCK and GEORGE I-IAssLER, citizens of the United States, residing at New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Horseshoe-Pads, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof, in which- Figure 1 is a bottom plan view of our newlydesigned horseshoe-pad; Fig. 2, a transverse section on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1, and Fig. 3 a rear end View thereof.
Theleading or material featn re of ournewlydesigned horseshoe-pad consists in the general form thereof, which is that of a horseshoe, and in the form of the top portion (1 thereof, which is flat and substantially of the same thickness throughout, and the downwardlydirected thickened portion b,the front portion of which is elliptical in form and the rear or heel portion of which consists of backwardlyextending sides 0, which converge backwardly and which are separated by a U shaped space d, and said side portions are wider at their rear ends than at other points, as shown at e, the total width thereof at the heel portion of the shoe being almost equal to that of the body portion a. The side portions 0 of the part b, at the outer edges thereof,are inclined forwardly, as shown at f, and said central portion 12 is much narrower at the front portion of the pad and at the central side portions thereof than the body portion a, and between the part b and the body portion a is placed a thin member g, which is of the same width at its rear end as the combined width of the side portions 6 of the part b,while the forward portion thereof is wider than the part b and narrower than the part Cl, and of the same general form as the said part c.
Having thus fully described our invention, what We claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a horseshoe-pad herein shown and described.
