DESIGN FOR A HEEL OR SOLE PLATE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 22,294, dated March 14, 1893.
Application filed January 28, 1893. Serial No. 460,162. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, GEORGE J. DAVISON, residing at Richmond, in the county of Henrico and State of Virginia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Heel or Sole Plates, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which- Figure 1 is a perspeetive'view of one side of my design and Fig. 2 is a similar view of the opposite side.
The leading feature of my design consists in the shape and ornamentation of the completed article having the segmental shape produced by the inner and outer curves 0 and B and its ends prolonged and deflected atEand the V-shaped openings with the prong like projections springing from their bread sides.
The body of the plate A is of an approximately segmental shape, its outer edge being curved as at B, its inner edge having a concave curvature C, while its sides are formed of straight porlionsD which extend from the front edge B, and terminate at their rear ends in prong like representations E. One face of the plate, has triangular shaped ornamentations F, the bases of which are adjacent and arranged near the center of the plate, their pointed ends projecting in opposite directions toward the edges D. The opposite face of the plate has similar triangular ornamentations, the bases of which terminate in prong like representations G.
