To (til wltrmt it may ("o/morn.-
Be it known that I, \VILLIAM N. GLAN- VILLE, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city and count3 of San Francisco, Stale of California, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Quarters for Low Shoes, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The figure is a view of the quarter spread out and showing my design.
As shown, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the two sides A and B, which constitute the quarter formed in a single piece and having the lower edges made approximately straight, as at J, and a central V-shaped notch extending upwardly a short distancefrom the adjacent cndsof the straight portions 2, as shown at 3. The upper edge 4 of the quarter is approximately straight for the greater portion of its length and thence curves upwardly toward each end, and from its ends the upper edges curve downwardly and outwardly and meet the outer ends of the straight edges 2 in an essentially reverse curve. The lining which is fitted to the quarter is of exactly the same design.
This design is especially applicable to low shoes of the class known as Oxfords.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a quarter of a low shoe as herein shown and described.
In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand.
