(Application filed Juiy 10* 1900) W/ TNESSES IN V53 TOR Johyz M1 6/1/971007'.
All/um UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
JOHN NORMAN SPENCER, OF SOUTH BERVVICK, MAINE.
DESIGN FOR A HINGE MEMBER.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 33,222, dated September is, 1900. Application filed July 10, 1900. Serial No. 23,165. Term of patent 7 years.
To all whom it may concern):
Be it known that I, J OHN NORMAN SPENCER, a citizen of the United States, residing at South Berwick, in the county of York and State of Maine, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Hinge Member, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing represents a perspective view of a blind-hinge member, illustrating my new design.
The leading or material feature of the design consists of a hinge member 1, comprising a flat rectangular body portion and having disposed along one of its longitudinal edges a sleeve 2, which forms the knuckle of the hinge member. The sleeve or knuckle 2 is provided at opposite ends or at top and bottom with reversely extending V-shaped projections 3, whereby the opposite end portions of the knuckle and hinge member have the same appearance and are, in fact, counterparts of each other. The sleeve or knuckle 2 is also somewhat less in length than the body of the hinge lnemberz.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a hinge member, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
JOHN NORMAN SPENCER.
