SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,270, dated February 28, 1899.

Application filed January 31,1899. Serial No. 704,062- Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, J OHN J. GORMAJN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a. Protective Foot-Plate for Cars, Steps, and other Objects, of which the following is a specification.

This invention relates to a. new and original design for a protective foot-plate for cars, steps, and other objects; and it has for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.

The leading feature of the design resides in a. rectangular plate-body provided with a scrolled edge.

A minor feature of the design is the rectangular plate-body provided therein with a plurality of circular holes and having the scrolled portion at one of its longitudinal side edges.

Another minor feature of the design is the scrolled edge of the plate-body, having a V- shaped lobe centrally between the ends of the plate and formed with a sigmoidal curvature at each side of said lobe.

In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of a protective foot-plate embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof.

Referring to the drawings, the numeral 1 designates a flat rectangular plate-body provided therein with a plurality of circular holes or openings 2 and at one of its longitudinal side edges with a scrolled portion 3. The scrolled portion 3, at one side edge of the platebody], is formed with a V-shaped lobe 4, projecting outwardly from the body at a point centrally between its ends, and at each side of said lobe the edge is sigmoidally curved toward the ends of the body.

What is claimed is- The design for a protective foot-plate for cars, steps and other objects, herein shown and described.
