Description

D ES G N.
No. 34,792. Patented July l6, NW. 6. COLE. mam. BAR. O
IApplication filed June 4, 1900.,
UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
CLARENCE CoLE, OF TROY, NEW YORK.
DESIGN FOR A METAL BAR.
SI PECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,792, dated July 16, 1901.
Application filed June 4, 1900. Serial No. 19,085- Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom, it may concern:
Be it known that I, CLARENCE Come, a citizen of the United States, residing at the city of Troy, county of Rensselaer, and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Metal Bar, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 of the drawings is a plan View of a metal bar embodying my new design. Fig. 2 is an end View of the same, which serves also to illustrate the cross-sectional form of the bar.
The design consists in the ornamental configuration of the bar.
The bar is of elongated form, as shown in Fig. 1, and has the parallel plane bottom surface 1 and top surface 2.
On one side the bar has formed therein a concaved groove 3, extending approximately from the top surface 2 to the bottom surface 1, and on the opposite side a rectangulargroove 4, extending from said top surface about half-way to said bottom surface and having one of its Walls 5 forming a right angle with the top surface and its other Wall 6 parallel with said top and bottom surfaces, as shown, each of said grooves extending longitudinally of the bar.
The leading feature of the design consists in the concave groove 3, extending longitudinally of one side and approximately from the top surface to the bottom surface of the bar, and the rectangular groove 42, extending longitudinally of the opposite side of the bar and from the top surface approximately halfway to the bottom surface, and one wall of said rectangular groove forming a right angle with said top surface, whereby is imparted to the bar a characteristic outline in cross-section on the top and rectangularly-grooved side in the form of the letter M or a partlyinverted W with the apex of the middle angle of such letter in a straight line connecting the terminals thereofthat is, the several angles of said letter are right angles and the lines defining said angles all of equal length.
What I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a metal bar herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have hereunto set my hand this 31st day of May, 1900.
CLARENCE COLE.
