NOBD'WALL. MUSICAL INSTRUMENT BODY.
(Application filed Apr. 15, 1901.)
"umnurmlmmm fare 72/52?- UNI ED. STATES PATENT OFFICE.
ARON NORDWALL, OF CHICAGO, ILLINOIS.
DESIGN FOR A MUSICAL-INSTRUMENT BODY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,476, dated May '7, 1901.
Application filed April 15, 1901. Serial No. 56,023. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, ARON NORDWALL, a subject of the King of Sweden and Norway, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Musical- Instrument Bodies, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
Figure l is a plan view of a musical-instrument body, showing my new design. Fig. 2 is a side View thereof; and Fig. 3 is a View in elevation and partly in section, taken on line 3 3 of Fig. 1, looking in the direction indicated by the arrows.
As shown in the drawings, the leading or material feature of my design consists of the main portion A, which is fiat on its top and slightly outwardly curved in its bottom, as is shown at a in Figs. 2 and 3 of the drawings. The top of the portion A is formed with two heart-shaped openings 1), which are located,
between the contracted sides of the main portion.
On the top of the portion A and extending crosswise thereof is a rib O, and extending over the same is a curved piece 0, the upper portion of which extends slightly over and above the said rib. The rib O has on its upper surface two longitudinal ribs 0 and 0 in alinement with one another. The front end of the portion A is formed with an inwardlyextending recess d, between the arms or necks D and D, with which said front part of the portion A is formed. The outer ends of the arms or necks D and D are united together by means of a part d, which has a transverse rib d and another transverse piece 01 on its upper surface near the end of the arm D and has a triangular opening 6 in its outer portion. The upper surface of the arm D is formed with a number of. transverse ribs e' and is slightly tapered toward its outer end.
Having described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a musical-instrument body, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I have signed my name to this specification in the presence of two subscribing witnesses.
V ARON NORDWALL.
Witnesses:
