UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
THOMAS J. SOLOX, OF SEDALIA, MISSOURI.
DESIGN FOR A LAST.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 25,892, dated August 4, 1896.
Application filed June 23,1896. Serial No. 596,650. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, THOMAS J. Si )LUN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Scdalia, in the county of Pettis and State of Missouri, have invented a new and original Design for a Reversible Lap-Last, of which the following is a specification.
This invention relates to a new and original design for reversible lap-lasts; and ithas for its object to provide a design of this character that shall be both useful and ornamental.
The leading feature of the design resides in a pair of reversely-disposed lastbodies arranged in approximately parallel planes and each provided with flattened soles curved on a sigmoidal line, the curvature of which line is very slight toward the heel end of the last to produce an approximately straight horizontal face for the entire heel portion, and with sigmoidal-eurved side edges merging into a truly circular widened heel; and a shank or neck connecting the heel ends of the two last-bodies and disposed at a substantial right angle to the longitudinal disposition thereof, said shank or neck being annularly concaved and merging on curved lines into the sole and back portions of the lastbodies.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view of the lap-last embodying the herein-described design. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof. Fig. 3 is a side elevation.
Referring to the accompanying drawings, 1 l designate a pairof reversely-disposed lastbodies arranged in approximately parallel planes and each provided with flattened soles 9. The flattened sole 2 of each lastbody is curved on a siginoidal line whose curvature is very slight toward the heel end to produce an approximately straight horizontal face 3 for the entire heel portion. Each last-body 1 is further provided with sigmoida-l-curved side edges 4, merging into a truly circular widened heel 5. A shank or neck 6 connects the two last-bodies l at their heel ends and is disposed at a substantial right angle to the longitudinal disposition of said last-body. The shank or neck 6 is annularlyconeaved, as at 7, and merges on curved lines into the sole and back portions of the last.
lVhat I claim is The design for a reversible lap-last herein shown and described.
In testimony that I claim the foregoing as my own I have hereto affixed my signature in the presence of two Witnesses.
THOMAS J. SOLON.
