UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE,
OSCAR MARSCHUETZ, OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, ASSIGNOR TO THE AHRENS & OTT MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BATH-TUB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,890, dated November 12, 1895.
Application filed May 7, 1895. Serial No. 548,447. Term of patent 7 years.
T0 at whom, it may concern.-
Be it known that I, OSCAR MARSOHUETZ, a citizen of the United States, residing at Louisville, in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have invented and produced a ew and original Design for Bath-Tubs, of
*hich the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bathtub, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a vertical transverse sectional View through the same.
My invention is a design for a bath-tub, the leading features of which consist, first, of an angular rim having the contour or configuration shown; secondly, in the pattern upon the outer wall of the tub, and, thirdly, in the leg shown and hereinafter described.
A denotes the body of the tub, which has a sloping wall a at one end and a vertical wall I) at the other end the side Walls 0 c bein slightly inclined upward from the bottom.
B is the continuous rim, which surrounds the topredge of the tub. In cross-section this rim is curved, as at d, along the line Where it branches or springs from the Walls of the tub, and the rim then slants or inclines upward and outward from the walls in substantially straight lines, as at e, and at the outer edge said rini has a pendent lip or flange f.
O D are the bands or panels forming the pattern on the exterior surface of the walls of the tub. These panels or hands differ in width and are parallel to each other around the side and end walls of the tub.
E E designate the feet or legs of the tub. At its lower end each foot or leg has the spaced claws g, but at its upper end it is ornamented in the following manner: A tapering vertical stein h lies between the diverging leaves c'j, which are curved outward from each other toward the side edges of the leg. Above the stem is a quinquefoliate figure 70, from Which branches the leaves Z, and outside of these leaves are the scrolls m it.
What I claim is- The design for a bath tub herein shown and described.
OSCAR MARSCHUETZ.
