BATH TUB.

UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
DAVID D. BUICK, OF DETROIT, MICHIGAN.
DESIGN FOR A BATH-TUB.
T0 or whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, DAVID D. BUICK, a citizen of the United States, residing at Detroit, in the county of \Vayne and State of Michigan, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bath-Tubs, of which the following is a specification, reference being had therein to the accompanying drawings.
Figure 1 is a side elevation of a bath-tub embodying my design, and Fig. 2 is a top plan view thereof.
A is the body portion of a bath-tub of substantially trough or U shape in cross-section and oblong with fiat sides and rounded ends in plan. One of the ends B is inclined and terminates at its top in substantially the horizontal plane of the top of the body portion A, while the other end C is substantially vertical and projects up beyond the top of the body portion A. Centrally of the top of the end C is the bowl or basin shaped portion 11, being substantially semicircular in vertical cross-section and oval in plan. The top edge of the end 0 slopes in a graceful curve from either side of the bowl-shaped portion to the top edge of the body portion A.
C D are bands extending around the tub at the juncture of the ends with the body portion.
E is a rim of the same general shape in plan as the top edge of the tub, it having the central straight sides, the rounded end to conform to the end B of the tub, the sub stantiallyoval-shaped portion F, situated above the bowl-shaped portion H, and the sloping curved portions H, joining the ovalshaped portion F with the straight side portions. Centrally on each side of the portion F are the ears or enlargements G.
The leading feature is the tub having one end substantially vertical and extending above the top edge of the body portion and provided centrally with a bowl or basin shaped portion.
The design for a bath-tub, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
DAVID D. BUICK.
