Description

DESIGN.
H. HAYSSEN.
ONE-PIECE LAVATORY.
(Application filed Mar. 23, 1890.)
Patented Apr. l8, I899.
UNITED STATES PATENT @EFIGE.
HERMANN HAYSSEN, OF SHEBOYGAN, XVISCONSIN.
DESIGN FOR A ONE-PIECE LAVATORY.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 30,572, dated April 18, 1899.
Application filed March 23,1899. Serial No. 710,256. Term of patent '7 years.
T0 on whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HERMANN HAYSSEN, a citizen of-the United States, residing at Sheboygan, in thecounty of Sheboygan and State of Wisconsin, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a One-Piece Lavatory; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
In the said drawings, Figure 1 is a perspective view, and Fig. 2 is a vertical sectional view taken on the line 2 2 of Fig. 1, of a onepiece lavatory embodying my new design.
' My design relates to the new and original shape or configuration of the article.
The leading or essential feature consists in the unitary design for a one-piece lavatory made the subject of illustration comprising the peculiar and novel shape of the back and shelf, as hereinafter more particularly described.
The back A is vertical and rises from the rear edge of the horizontal shelf B, so that these parts are at a right angle to each other, the end and top edges of the said back being curved over backward and outward and upward, respectively, on a circular line, as indicated in section between a and Z) in Fig. 2, the ends 0 0 being vertical and the top d being horizontal, united by rounded upper corners e e. Rising from the plane of the shelf B is a continuous rounded border f, semicircular in cross-section above the plane of the shelf B, but with its outer part extending below said plane and flaring outwardly, as shown at g, the. lower edge of this flared portion g'coinciding with the lower outer end of the ends of the back A, as shown at 7L.
Minor features of my said design include the shape of the bowl 0 and its accessories, said bowl being of elliptical shape from end to end at the top and semicircular in a transverse central line, its lower outlet 1) being of annular shape and its waste-channel j following the arc of the transverse circle of the bowl at the rear to form a pleasing and harmonious effect; also, the shape of the under side ribs, one of which is shown at D E in Fig. 2, there being two of these ribs, one on each side of the bowl 0, but as Fig. 2 is a view in elevation the other of said ribs of precisely the same form is concealed by the one shown, the lower part of the horizontal portion D of said ribs projecting slightly below the plane of the bottom of the border-flange g, as indicated by the dotted line on m in Fig. 2, and the upper part E of said ribs projecting at a right angle from the said lower part D.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
The design for a one-piece lavatory, substantially as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
