DESIGN FOR A CYCLE-SEAT.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 27,226, dated June 15, 1897.
Application filed January 6, 1897. Serial No. 618,208. Term of patent 14 years.
To a]? whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, OTIS K. NEWELL, of Boston, in the county of Suffolk and State of Massachusetts, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cycle-Seat, of which the following description, in con nection with the accompanying drawings, is a specification, like letters on the drawings representing like parts.
The design relates to a seat for cycles of that class known as bicycles; and it consists in a bicycle-seat distinguished by its peculiar shape, as will be hereinafter set forth and claimed.
Figure 1 is a top or plan view of the bicycleseat embodying this design; Fig. 2, a vertical section of the bicycle-seat shown in Fig. 1, taken on the line 2 2.
The leading and distinctive feature of this invention consists in a cycle-seat of the shape or configuration shown, in which the rider sits and which has its back portion and its front portion in intersecting planes.
The seat herein shown as embodying this design is open at its center, and the back portion is composed of a curved rim a, from which extend inwardly-projecting arms a (1 con- OTIS K. NEIVELL.
