Be it known that 1, JAMES II. llu'rnlin, a citizen of the United States, residing at Somerville, in the county of Middlesex and State ()[Massaehusetlsdiave invented and produced. a new and original Design [or School-Chairs; and I do declare the fol lowing to be a full ,elear, and exact description of the Same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, forming a part thereof.
Figure 1 is a top plan view ofa sehootehair, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a side elevation of the same; and Fig. 3 is a erosssection on the line b 3 shown in Fig". 1.
Similar letters refer to similar parts wherever they occur on the different parts of the drawings.
The leading feature of my design consists in a concave top piece or baek-rest A, from which extends downwardly the convex rounds I3 I to the seat and in. combination with such concave hack and eonvex rounds I have shown eurved arm-supports or side pieees I) I), extending from the concave lop pieee A to the sides of the scat as [Tully illustrated in the drawings.
By the eomhiuation of a eoueave top piece, convex rounds, and curved side pieces ex tend- 'ing from said eoneave top piece to the seat a very artistic design for a school-chair is produeed.
\Vhat I claim is The design for a school-chair herein shown and described, the same comprising a eoneave top or back support A, eonvex rounds extending from said eoneave top to the seat (3 and curved side pieces or arm-rests 1), I), as herein set forth.
