DESIGN FOR A WASHBOWL AND SLAB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 23,895, dated December 25, 1894.
Application fil September 10, 1894. Serial No. 522,671. Term of patent 14 years.
To aZZ whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, JOHN H. GAVIN, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, in the county of Cook and State of Illinois, have invented and produced a new and original Design for an Enameled Iron Corner Washbowl and Slab, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming a part hereof.
Said drawing shows a perspective view of a corner slab and wash bowl embodying my design.
The leading feature of my design lies in the general shape and outline of my corner wash bowl and slab as a whole, by which its several members, divisions or portions, such as the bowl proper, the horizontal corner slab portion and the vertical corner slab portion are all combined together in one harmonious and pleasing design; and the design consists essentially in connection with the bowl A having the fluted or scalloped or curved decorations a a extending radially and vertically on the exterior surface of the bowl, and the points of each of which terminate at the outlet a' and the fluted skirt a at the upper edge of the bowl, of a horizontal slab 13 having the appearance of an annular rim for the bowl A at the outer edge, terminating in curved points I) b and from which curved points spring in ogee curved outlines c c the two angular sides of the integral corner slab'C. The two ogee curved outlines C C unite at the corner in a common curve 0 at the angle of the corner, which common or united curve 0' is united at its feet or bases with the two ogee curves 0 c by angular offsets c 0 as is clearly indicated in the drawing. The fillet or skirt like ornamentation a at the upper edge of the bowl on the exterior surface thereof comprises two series of curved and raised surfaces a a and a series of angles a in the larger curved and raised surface a as is clearly indicated in the drawing.
I claim- The design for a corner wash bowl and slab herein shown and described.
JOHN H. GAVIN.
