UNITED STATES PATENT OFFICE.
OSCAR MARSCHUETZ, OF LOUISVILLE, KENTUCKY, ASSIGNOR TO THE AHRENS & OTT MANUFACTURING COMPANY, OF SAME PLACE.
DESIGN FOR A BATH-TUB.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 24,777, dated October 22, 1895.
Application filed May 7, 1895- Serial No. 548A48- Term ofpatent '7 years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, OSCAR MARscHUETz, a citizen of the United States, residing at Louis- Aville, in the county of Jefferson and State of Kentucky, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Bath-Tubs, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, showing a part hereof.
Figure 1 is a perspective view of a bathtub, showing my design. Fig. 2 is a plan view thereof. Fig. 3 is a vertical transverse sectional view on the plane indicated by the dotted line a: at of Fig. 2. Fig. 4 is a vertical transverse sectional view on the plane indicated by the dotted line y y of Fig. 2. Fig. 5 is a transverse sectional view, on an enlarged scale, through the roll-rim and the depression therein.
My invention is a design for a bath-tub, the leading features of which consist, first, of a lOll-l'llll having the contour or configuration shown; secondly, in the pattern upon the outer wall of the tub, and, thirdly, in the leg shown and hereinafter described.
A designates the body of the bath-tub, and B is the roll-rim around the top edge of the tub. This roll-rim presents a continuouslycurved broad surface around all the walls of the tub, at the top edge thereof. In crossscction, Fig. 2, this rim is curved on a large radius outwardly from the walls of the tub, and at its outer edge said rim is curved inwardly underneath, as at Z), the top curved portion c of the rim.
C D are the pockets or depressions in the top curved surface of the rim B, and c d are channels or grooves, which extend from the pockets or depressions and which merge into the inner surface of one of the walls of the tub.
On its external surface the body of the tub has the pattern, consisting of the parallel bands or panels E E, which extend around the side and end walls of the tub.
F G are the feet or legs. Each foot or leg has a horizontal ridge faloove the knobs g, and inclined corrugations h extend upward from this transverse ridge f. At the top of the foot is a series of leavesi and the scrolls or spirals j 70, the spirals being on opposite sides of the leaves.
What I claim is The design for a bathtub herein shown and described.
OSCAR MARSCHUETZ.
