UNITED STATES PATENT QFFIOE.
JOHN H. REYNOLDS, OF TROY, NEHV YORK.
DESIGN FOR A VENTILATED RIDGING.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 34,248, dated March 19, 1901.
Application filed February 19, 1901- Serial No. 48,012- Term of patent 14 years.
To alfiwhom it may concern:
Be it known that 1, JOHN H. REYNOLDS, a citizen of the United States, residing at Troy, in the county of Rensselaer and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Ventilated Ridging; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same.
Figure l is a perspective view of a section of a ventilated ridging, showing my new design; and Fig. 2 is an end view of the same.
As will be seen from the drawings, the essential features of my said design consist of the two similar inverted-V-shaped side members A A, each having its lower edge A A bent inwardly at substantially right angles to the sides of said side members A A. Near their vertical centers each of these said side members are bent outwardly at right angles, as shown at A A then curving inwardly and upwardly terminate with the outwardlyturned curved ends A A The edges A A of these curved ends A A extend downwardly and are'inwardly turned, as shown.
B is an inverted-V-shaped hood or crownpiece surmounting said side members A Aand adapted to cover the top edges of said members. The upper sides of this hood are some what inwardly curved, as shown and the lower ends 13 of the same are bent at approxi mately right angles to the sides. These lower ends are shown as being waved or corrugated longitudinally. This hood Bis held securely upon the top of said lower member by means of the curved stays O, disposed at suitable distances. This hood B is so disposed rela tively to said side members as to leave a space between the upper ends of said side members and the lower ends of said hood B, the upper ends of said side members being also spaced, as shown.
Having thus described my invention, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for a ventilated ridging, as herein shown and described.
In testimony whereof I affix my signature in presence of two witnesses.
J. H. REYNOLDS. WVitnesses:
