DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,998, dated July 1, 1890. Application filed A ril 15,1890. Serial No. 348,123. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY O. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
In the drawing is shown a side elevation of a cane or umbrella handle illustrating my new design.
A is the body part, and is of the shape shown, its central or middle portion swelling outward and being ornamented by spiral ribs D. This body part is mounted on the top by a ball-shaped head B, separated from said body part by shaded work 0 and formed with annular depressed grooves E, arranged obliquely about it. The body part A is bounded 20 on the bottom by an annular band F, which is highly ornamented.
The entire handle, outside of the parts F and C, may be plain or shaded, as desired.
The handle is made of any suitable mate- 25 rial.
Having now described my new design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
