DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,955, dated July 1, 1890.

To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY O. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county of New York and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Cane or Umbrella' Handle, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
In the drawingis shown a side elevation of a cane or umbrella handle illustrating my new design.
A is the body part and extends upwardly in the loop 0. The loop 0 is formed of a hammered surface, terminating at one end in the head B of the body part and in the other end in a claw D, which appears to grasp the part of the handle immediately above the inverted head B.
E is a portion formed with vertical ribs, which appears to come out of the mouth of the head B, and is mounted upon the bottom F, formed of two annular bands of plain surface.
The handle is made of any suitable material.

The design for cane or umbrella handles, substantially as herein described and shown.
