DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION formingpart of Design No. 19,948, dated June 24, 1890.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY O. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
Referring to the drawing, A is the body of the handle. B is the head, and C is the base portion thereof. The body part A tapersfrom the base part 0 to the head part B, with a gradual increase in diameter, and consists of alternate bands D and E, arranged like spirals or helices alternately one above the other. The part D is plain and slightly concave, and the part E is highly ornamented to indicate a. feather. The head B has the top F plain and formed like a cap, and convex portion J of shaded or ornamental work, which is relieved by the depending and up- Applioation filed April 15, 1890.
