DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,964, dated July 1, 1890.
Application filed April 15, 1890. Serial No. 348,112. Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY O. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced anew and original Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanying drawing, forming part thereof.
The drawing shows an umbrella or cane handle illustrating my new design.
A is the upwardly-extendin g portion of the body, and terminates in the crook B, having its point E made rounded and plain. At intervals in the body and crook there are enlarged portions D,between which the surface is depressed and formed with slightly spiral or twisted grooves or ribs.
F represents the grooves, and the raised p0r-- tions between them would form ribs.
The body part A is finished at the bottom by a base-band C, rounded and highly ornamerited.
The handle is made of any suitable material.
Having nowdescribed my new design,what- I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is
