DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,949, dated June 24, 1890.
Application filed Apri115,1890. Serial No. 348,097- Term of patent 3% years.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, HENRY A. WEIHMAN, a citizen of the United States, residingin Philadelphia, in the county of Philadelphia and State of Pennsylvania, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the accompanyingdrawings, formiu g part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a cane or umbrella handle illustrating my new design and showingthe head slightly in perspective, and Fig. 2 is a side elevation of same looking from the opposite side.
A is the body part, and is substantially cylindrical and formed with a series of spiral grooves D. The upper part of the body A curves outward at the top, as at E, and is roughened or shaded at this point, and terminates in a rounded cap or head 13, of plain metal, and provided with the depressed portion 0. The body part is relieved by the ornamental portions F K L, formed upon the spiral grooves D. The bottom of the body part curves in slightly and terminates in the annular roughened or shaded band J, and below this is. the base part G, consisting of the downwardly-extending ornamental points H and terminating in the annular plain band I.
The handle is made of any suitable material.
Having now described my new design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for cane or umbrella handles, substantially as described and shown herein.
