DESIGN FOR A CANE OR UMBRELLA HANDLE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 19,945, dated June 24, 1890. Application filed April 15, 1890' Serial No. 348,102- Term of patent 8% years.
To all whom it may concern.-
Be it known that I, HENRY O. SCHMIDT, a citizen of the United States, residing in New York, in the county and State of New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for Cane or Umbrella Handles, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawings, forming part thereof.
In the drawings, Figure 1 is a side elevation of a cane orurnbrella handle illustrating my new design, and Fig. 2 is a cross-section of same on line an ac.
A is the body part, and extends up vertically for a short distance and then is formed into a large loop B. The vertical or lower portion of the body is encircled by depressed spirals C and ornamental spirals D, which are plain. Thebottom of the body is finished by an annular plain band E. The loop B is made approximately diamond-shaped in cross-section, as indicated in Fig. 2, and is relieved by highlyornamental work representing a. feather. The extreme end of the loop B is like a foot F and rests upon the upper portion of the body part A;
The handle is made of any suitable material.
Having now described my new design, what I claim as new, and desire to secure by Letters Patent, is-
The design for cane or umbrella handles, substantially as herein described and shown.
