DESIGN FOR A KNITTlNG-BURR BLADE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 15,587, dated December 2, 1884.
Application (ilcd September 10, 1884.
To all whom it may concern:
Be it known that I, LUKE KAVANAUGH, a citizen of the United States, residing in the town of Waterford, in the county of Saratoga and State of New York, have invented and produced a new, useful, and original Shape, Configuration, or Design for Knitting-Burr Blades, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying drawing, which represents in side elevation aknitting-burr blade embodying the design.
Ihe distinguishing feature of this design is the outline shape of the edges of the blade. The blade has a flaring shank bordered by the edges a b, b c, and c d, and has the main portion, bounded by the upper edge, a e, curved conrexly in its lengthwise direction throughout its whole extent, the lower edge, f e, inclined at an acute angle to the edge a e, and meeting the latter in the rounded corner e, and the straight edge df inclined at an acute angle to the edge cc and at an obtuse angle to the edge e f, and for1ning,witl1 the latter, the plainly-obtuse anglef, and all shaped so that a line fr; drawn perpendicular to the edge Term of patent 14 years.

I claim as new The design for a knitting-burr blade herein shown and described, the same consisting of the fiarin g shank bordered by the edges a b, b c, and c d, and the main portion,bordered by the edge a e, curved convexly throughout its whole extent, the edgefc inclined at an acute angle to the edge ae, and meeting the latter in the rounded corner e, and the straight edge (I f inclined at an acute angle to the edge a c and at an obtuse angle to the edge ef, and forming,with the latter, the plainly-obtuse angle f, as set forth.
