DESlGN FOR A COOKING-RANGE.
SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,972, dated June 12, 1883.
Application liled April 4, i883. Term of patent 7 years To all whom it may concern.-
Ile it known that we, H. CLAY Ihscon, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Troy, in the county of licnsselacr and State of New York, and Tomas S. HEISTER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the village of Lansiugburg, in the said county and State, have jointly invented and produced a new and original Design for CookingRanges,
10 of which the following is aspeeifieation, reference being bad to the accompanying cut, print, or engraving of a cooking-range having said new design.
The general design for the range consists of l 5 the upper portion, A, and the lower portion, B, shaped, proportioned, ornamented, and arranged together so as to present the same appearance as is represented in the accompanying print.
The design for the upper portion, A, consists of the closet-section G, oven-section D, and recessed section E, severally shaped, ornamented, and arranged together so as to present substantially the same general appearance as is represented in the aforesaid cut.
- The design forthe lower portion, B, consists of the middle part, F, and lateral panels G G, shaped, ornamented, and arranged together so as to have substantially the same appear- 0 ance as is presented in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the section C consists of the two inner oblong panels, H H, and lateral panels I I, shaped, ornamented, and arranged together substantially as shown in the accoinpa- 5 nying out.
The design for the oven-section D consists of the two door-panels J J,'middle standard, K, and lateral pilasters L L, shaped, orna mentcd, and arranged so as to present sub 40 stantially the same appearance together as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the recessseetion E is composed of the middle panel, M, lateral panels N N, and side panels, 0 O, shaped, ornament- 5 ed, and arranged so as to present togethcrsnb stanlinlly the same appearance as a whole as lhnl represented in [he aforesaid engraving.

The dcsign for the panel Q consists oi the representation of a buck deer, u, between shrub-like trees 1) c, shaped and arranged to gcther, substantially as shown in the aforesaid engraving, on a tablet having a raised border arched in the middle of its top and rectangular at its ends, as shown.
The design for the parts R R consists of the scroll ornaments (l d and end ornaments, e e, all shaped, proportioned, and arranged together substantiallyas shown in the aforesaid out.
The design for the panels H consists of the compound middle ornament, S, and orna' mented border f, shaped and arranged togeth er substantially as represented in the aforesaid print.
The design for the compound ornament S consists of the central rosette, g, having radial scroll-prongs, the end ornaments, h, and the intermediated ornaments i, all shaped, arranged, and connected together as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the panels I and T consistsof the central compound ornament, j, and orna mental border It, all shaped, composed, and arranged together substantially as shown in the accompanying print.
The design for the panels J J consists of the compound central ornament, U, and ornamented border V, shaped and arranged together so as to present substantially the same appearance as is represented in the aforesaid cut.
The design for the ornament U consists of the lower compound part, at, the side scrolls, n, and the middle and upper portion, 0, all shaped, composed, and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the pilasters L L consists of the compound ornament p, surrounded by the arched top ornamented border, q, composed, shaped, and arranged together as represented in the aforesaid print.

The design for the panel N consists of the representation of a snipe, f, with scenery I, shaped and disposed substantially as shown in the aforesaid print.
The design for the panels 0 t) consists of the representation of a quail, partridge, or grouse, u, and scenery a, shaped and arranged substantially as shown in the accompanying cut.
The design for the panels (1 consists ot'the compound central ornament, \V, and ornamental border V', composed, shaped, and arranged together so as to present substantially the same appearance as is represented in the aforesaid print.
The design for the ornament W consists of the compound lower portion, '1), upper part, 12, and intermediate portion, 0, all shaped and arranged together as represented in the afore said out.
The design for the panel-borde1s V V consists of the scallop inner beading, to, corner ornaments, 10, end ornaments, so, and middle ornament-s, a, all shaped and arranged together as shown in the aforesaid engraving.
The design for the firedoor X consists of the series of wide arch-top mica-light apertures y, with intervening ornaments y, and the series of narrow draft-apertures z, having arched tops and intermediate ornaments, 2, all shaped, proportioned, and arranged together substantially as shown in the accompanying print.
What we claim as our joint invention is 1. The design for a range, composed of the upper and lower portions, A B, shaped, ornamented, and arranged as described and shown.
2. The design for the upper portion, A, composed of the sections 0, D, and E, shaped, ornamented, and arranged together as set forth and shown.
3. The design for the portion B, composed of the parts F and G G, shaped, ornamented. and arranged as described and shown.
