SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,560, dated January 30, 1883.
Application filed November 22, 1882. Term of patent 14 years.
To all whom may concern:
Be it known that 1, CHARLES E. HEYER, a citizen of the United States, residing in the city of Chicago, county of Cook, and State of 5 Illinois, have invented and produced a. new
and original Design for a Font of Printing- Types, of which the following is a specification, reference being bad to the accompanying illustration, forming a part hereof.
10 The character of the design is a script letter having a back slope; and it consists of capitats, lower-case, figures, and points.
A special feature of the design is the backs'loping of the letter, consisting of ahair-line,
i5 excepting on the bottom of the letter, where it forms a. rounded heavyswell on the bottom line. of the letter. 0n the top ofcapitals A C l) E F G H K L N 0 P Q T WXYZ, lower-case ce [1] orstzth, and figures123578'0 is also alight swell or filling in. Through the 2:: center of capitals C, G, and 0 runs a hairline in a diagonal direction downward to the descending line of the letter. The'cross-line in the center of capitals F H X and lowercase t and th forms a swell drop hair-line ta- 25 pering to one end of it.
I claim The design for a font of printing-types, the style beinga back-slope scriptwith themarked contrast between the hair-line top and the 0 heavy swell bottom, combined as described and shown in the accompanying illustration.
