Be it known that I, JOHN WEST, a citizen of the United States, residing at Chicago, county oi' Cook, State of Illinois, have invented and 5 produced anew and original Design for aFont of Printing-Type, of which the following is a specification, reference being had to the ae com panying typographie print, forming part thereof. g

My design consists of a font of printing type composed of capitals the characteristic feature of which is the light unshaded lines with terminal flourish in places, and dollarmarks, figures, pnnctnationmarks, 8m., of 15 same style.

The letters A, N, and Y are shown in two styles-the ordinary plain style and with the light line terminating with a ilourish with terminal dot. B, P, and R have a short central terminal flourish. C, G, S, Z. $5, 2, 3, 5, 6, 7, and il have a descending tapering flourish. E, F, L, T, and Z are old style,7 having slanting shade lines orvpoints. t, SB, 3, and 5 have lower terminal flourish with a dot.

What I claim, and desire to secure by Let-- ters Patent, is

The design for a font of printing-type, substantially as herein shown and described.
