DESIGN FOR A FONT OF PRINTING-TYPE.

SPECIFICATION forming part of Design No. 13,313, dated September 26, 1882.

Application filed August 11, 1882. Term of patent 14 years.

To all whom it may concern:

Be it known that I, JAMES M. CONNER, of the city, county, and State ot' New York, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font of Printing-Type, of which the following is a. specification.

The nature of my design is clearly shown in the accompanying typographic impression, to which reference is made; and it consists of an unshaded text letter, many of the lettersnotably the A, B, D, F, H, I, J, K, L, M, N, P, R, U, V, W, X, Y, and Z-being ornamented by the central flourishes extending upon the left of the letters, while the O, E, F, G, H, S, and Y have the upper right-hand termination formed by a light inclined line, succeeded by the heavy triangular ornament, as shown. In the J the tail of the letter extends below the line. The

O and Q are ornamented by the line extending downward about centrally in the interior 20 ot' the letters. In the symbol & the light line, succeeded by the heavy triangular ornament, is found in the upper right-hand corner. In the -mark and numerals 2 and 7 the flourishes are found, and the characteristic of the 2 design is preserved in the lower-case, notably the b, c, f, h, k, l, and t.
