To all `whom it may concern Be it known that I, HERMAN lnrnwntuer, (assigner to DAVID WOLEE BnUeE,) ol the city and eountv ot' Philadelphia, Iennsvvlva 5 nia, have invented and produced a new and original Design for a Font 0f Printing-'llvpq of which the l'ollowing is a specilieatiou.

The nature ol" my design is clearl)l shown in the accompanying typographie impression, to

xo which reference is Iliade; and iteonsists ol'an ornamental letter shaded on the right and below by the heavy lines succeeded by a light line. The faces 0f' the letters are ornamented by the rhomboidal ornaments with an open rhomboid in the center, above and below which are placed a series ot' heavy dots gradnall)Y diminishing in size.

The character ot' the design is preserved in the punctuationmarks, the rhomboidal orna- 2o ment heilig found in the period and the heavy dots, gradually diminishing in size in the cxelalnation and interrogation marks and in the numerals and inthe dollar and pound synr bols.

In connection with this font, and forming a part of it, are the ornamented adjuncts shown after the symbols. One consists of a circular ligure with heavy center, from which extend the light stamens, shaded as shown, surround- 30 ed by an outer circle. Above is placed, about centrally, a heav lance-like liguresurmounted by a heavy dot, upon each side ol` which are the curved lines with dot terminations. elow the outer circle the reverse ot' this ligure is placed. rl`he other ligure consists ot' an upper curved ligure curved to the right and having a heavy dot termination, ornamented above h v a shortcnrved line with dot termination, and a like curved ligure extending downward l'rom the upper curved ligure and orna Inented below hy a short curved line with dot terminations. Upon the lefttheterminations ot' these curved tigures are extended to form an open arched ligure, l'rom which extend to the right the t'ourstamens shaded hy the heavy lilies; t0 the right ot' these a` curved line, bcyond which are placed the heav)v dots upon each side ofthe curved lines with dot terminations, hetween which is placed a light line extending to the, right and gradually widened to form a lancelilte ligure followed by a heav)` dot.
