Description
本發明關於共聚聚酯及水分散體。更詳細地,係關於保存安定性及耐水密合性、加工性、耐候性、整平性優異之共聚聚酯及水分散體。
共聚聚酯廣泛使用作為塗佈劑、印墨及黏接劑等所使用之樹脂組成物的原料,一般由多元羧酸與多元醇所構成。由於可自由地控制多元羧酸與多元醇之選擇與組合所獲致之柔軟性、分子量之高低,因此廣泛用於塗佈劑用途、黏接劑用途等各種用途。
其中,樹脂中具有脂環骨架之共聚聚酯,其加工性、耐候性優異,可利用於戶外耐久性之塗料等(例如,專利文獻1)。

[發明所欲解決之課題]
然而,近年來,因用於塗料之有機溶劑造成的環境污染、作業環境惡化已顯著化,各國對於幾乎不含有機溶劑之水性塗料之需求日漸增高。此外,為了在水性介質中安定地分散疏水性的聚酯樹脂,需要對樹脂骨架中賦予酸價,但酸價過高時,會有塗膜之耐水性惡化之問題。
本發明係以相關習知技術之課題作為背景而完成者。亦即,本發明之目的在於提供一種共聚聚酯,其作為經水分散化時可發揮長期安定性之樹脂成分係為有效,更提供一種聚酯樹脂水分散體,其在假定為長期暴露在濕潤下之條件仍具有對基材之耐水密合性及耐候性,又,具有與高分子量聚酯同等的加工性(高彎曲性),更可形成整平性優異之塗膜。
[解決課題之手段]
本案發明人等深入研究之結果,發現藉由下列所示手段可解決上述課題,進而達到本發明。
亦即,本發明由下列之構成所成。
一種共聚聚酯,其係將多元羧酸成分及多元醇成分作為共聚合成分,令多元羧酸成分為100莫耳%時,脂環族多元羧酸成分為50莫耳%以上,酸價為170當量/106
g~1000當量/106
g。
脂環族多元羧酸成分為1,4-環己烷二羧酸或四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐較理想。
前述共聚聚酯之玻璃轉移溫度為5℃以下較理想。
前述共聚聚酯之數平均分子量為10000以下較理想。
前述共聚聚酯分散在水中之共聚聚酯水分散體。
[發明之效果]
使用本發明之共聚聚酯之水分散體,耐候性、整平性、加工性(彎曲性)、耐水密合性優異,更可發揮良好之保存安定性。因此,可合適地用於塗佈在金屬或塑料基材之水性塗料。
下列詳述本發明。
>共聚聚酯>
使用了本發明之共聚聚酯之水分散體(下列亦簡稱為水分散體)可發揮優異之耐候性、整平性、加工性耐水密合性、及保存安定性。因此,可合適地用於塗佈後暴露在屋外環境下之水性塗料,使用本發明之共聚聚酯所製造之製品可得到具有高彎曲性、高耐水性之平滑之塗膜。
本發明之共聚聚酯,可藉由多元羧酸成分和多元醇成分之聚縮合物所得到之化學結構而成,多元羧酸成分與多元醇成分為各別選擇出1種或2種以上之成分而成者。
全部多元羧酸成分100莫耳%中,脂環族多元羧酸成分為50莫耳%以上,理想為60莫耳%以上,宜為70莫耳%以上,較佳為80莫耳%以上,尤佳為90莫耳%以上,即使為100莫耳%也無妨。利用使用大量脂環族多元羧酸之共聚聚酯來製造的水分散體之整平性優異,且塗膜之加工性及耐候性有改善之傾向。此處,為了賦予酸價而在共聚聚酯聚合後對其後添加(酸加成)酸酐等時,多元羧酸成分與多元醇成分之合計量會超過200莫耳%。此時,係令排除了酸酐等作為後添加(酸加成)之成分後之組成之合計量為200莫耳%進而計算者。
就構成本發明之共聚聚酯之脂環族多元羧酸而言,以脂環族二羧酸為理想。就脂環族二羧酸而言,無特別限定,可使用1,4-環己烷二甲酸、1,3-環己烷二羧酸、四氫鄰苯二甲酸、甲基四氫鄰苯二甲酸、四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐、甲基四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐及氫化萘二羧酸、以及它們的衍生物等。可單獨使用前述脂環族二羧酸成分,將2種以上併用也無妨。其中,以1,4-環己烷二甲酸或四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐為理想,將1,4-環己烷二甲酸及四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐併用為宜。將1,4-環己烷二甲酸與四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐併用時,1,4-環己烷二甲酸/四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐=90~50/10~50(莫耳比)為理想,宜為80~60/20~40(莫耳比)。
本發明之共聚聚酯中,就脂環族多元羧酸成分以外之多元羧酸成分而言,以芳香族多元羧酸或脂肪族多元羧酸為理想,芳香族二羧酸或脂肪族二羧酸為宜。就共聚合成分而言,含有芳香族多元羧酸成分或脂肪族多元羧酸成分以外之多元羧酸成分時,水分散體之保存安定性會降低。芳香族多元羧酸及脂肪族多元羧酸之合計量,為全部多元羧酸成分100莫耳%中之50莫耳%以下,理想為40莫耳%以下,宜為30莫耳%以下,較佳為20莫耳%以下,尤佳為10莫耳%以下,為0莫耳%也無妨。
就構成本發明之共聚聚酯之芳香族二羧酸而言,無特別限定,可使用對苯二甲酸、間苯二甲酸、鄰苯二甲酸、萘二羧酸、4,4’-二羧基聯苯、間苯二甲酸5-磺酸鈉、以及它們的衍生物(對苯二甲酸二甲酯、間苯二甲酸二甲酯)等。其中,以對苯二甲酸、間苯二甲酸為理想。就脂肪族二羧酸而言,無特別限定,可使用琥珀酸、戊二酸、己二酸、庚二酸、辛二酸、壬二酸、癸二酸,及它們的衍生物(己二酸二甲酯、癸二酸二甲酯)等。其中以己二酸為理想。
本發明之共聚聚酯之酸價必須為170~1000當量/106
g。藉由使共聚聚酯之樹脂酸價成為170~1000當量/106
g,可期待有提高水分散性、耐水密合性之效果。進一步改善水分散體之安定性及耐水性,亦可適應於要求耐久性之用途。酸價係200當量/106
g以上為理想,宜為300當量/106
g以上。藉由成為170當量/106
g以上可使共聚聚酯之水分散體之安定性良好。此外,800當量/106
g以下為理想,宜為600當量/106
g以下。藉由成為1000當量/106
g以下可改善耐水密合性,可適用於要求耐久性之用途。
就構成本發明之共聚聚酯之多元醇而言,無特別限定,可使用乙二醇、1,2-丙烷二醇、1,3-丙烷二醇、1,2-丁烷二醇、1,3-丁烷二醇、1,4-丁烷二醇、2-甲基-1,3-丙烷二醇、新戊二醇、1,5-戊烷二醇、3-甲基-1,5-戊烷二醇、1,6-己烷二醇、1-甲基-1,8-辛烷二醇、2-甲基-2-乙基-1,3-丙烷二醇、2,2-二乙基-1,3-丙烷二醇、2-乙基-2-正丙基-1,3-丙烷二醇、2,2-二正丙基-1,3-丙烷二醇、2-正丁基-2-乙基-1,3-丙烷二醇、2,2-二正丁基-1,3-丙烷二醇、2,4-二乙基-1,5-戊烷二醇、2-乙基-1,3-己烷二醇、1,4-環己烷二甲醇、三環癸烷二甲醇、聚四亞甲基二醇、聚丙二醇等聚伸烷基醚二醇、丙三醇、三羥甲基丙烷、三羥甲基乙烷、新戊四醇、α-甲基葡萄糖、甘露醇、山梨醇等二醇成分,可使用它們中的1種或2種以上。
本發明之共聚聚酯,以3價以上之多元羧酸成分及/或3價以上之多元醇成分進行共聚合為理想。就3價以上之多元羧酸成分而言,可列舉例如:偏苯三甲酸、均苯四甲酸、二苯甲酮四羧酸、1,3,5-苯三甲酸、偏苯三甲酸酐(TMA)、均苯四甲酸酐(PMDA)等芳香族羧酸、1,2,3,4-丁烷四羧酸等脂肪族羧酸等,這些可使用1種或2種以上。3價以上之多元羧酸成分之共聚合量,在令全部多元羧酸成分為100莫耳%時,宜為1莫耳%以上較理想,3莫耳%以上為宜,較佳為5莫耳%以上。此外,30莫耳%以下為理想,宜為20莫耳%以下,較佳為10莫耳%以下。較30莫耳%為多時會有在聚合中膠凝化之虞。就3價以上之多元醇成分而言,可列舉例如,丙三醇、三羥甲基丙烷、三羥甲基乙烷、新戊四醇、α-甲基葡萄糖、甘露醇、山梨醇,可使用它們中的1種或2種以上。3價以上之多元醇成分之共聚合量,在令全多元醇成分為100莫耳%時,宜為10莫耳%以上,更宜為15莫耳%以上,較佳為20莫耳%以上,尤佳為30莫耳%以上。此外,50莫耳%以下為理想,宜為40莫耳%以下。藉由3價以上之多元羧酸成分及/或3價以上之多元醇成分之共聚合量落在前述之範圍內,可在共聚聚酯適度地設置分支,使共聚聚酯水分散體之保存安定性、耐水密合性良好。另一方面,多元醇成分之共聚合量較50莫耳%為多時有在聚合中膠凝化之虞。
本發明之共聚聚酯之玻璃轉移溫度宜為5℃以下較理想,更宜為0℃以下,較佳為-10℃以下,尤佳為-20℃以下。藉由玻璃轉移溫度落在5℃以下之範圍內,可兼顧塗膜的良好整平性及加工性。
本發明之共聚聚酯之數平均分子量係10000以下為理想,6000以下為宜。此外,1000以上為理想,宜為2000以上。數平均分子量落在前述範圍內時會使整平性良好。
就製造本發明之共聚聚酯時之聚合縮合反應之方法而言,例如,1)在公知的觸媒存在下對多元羧酸及多元醇進行加熱,經過脫水酯化步驟,進行脫多元醇-聚縮合反應之方法、2)在公知的觸媒存在下對多元羧酸之醇酯體及多元醇進行加熱,經過酯交換反應,進行脫多元醇-聚縮合反應之方法、3)進行解聚合之方法等。前述1)2)之方法中,酸成分之一部份或全部亦可取代為酸酐。
在製造本發明之共聚聚酯(A)時,可使用以往公知之聚合觸媒,例如鈦酸四正丁酯、鈦酸四異丙酯、乙醯丙酮氧鈦等鈦化合物、三氧化銻、三丁氧銻等銻化合物、氧化鍺、四正丁氧鍺等鍺化合物,其他例如鎂、鐵、鋅、錳、鈷、鋁等之乙酸鹽等。這些觸媒可使用1種或將2種以上併用。
就提高本發明之共聚聚酯之酸價之方法而言,例如,(1)聚縮合反應完成後,添加3價以上之多元羧酸及/或3價以上之多元羧酸酐並使其反應之方法(酸加成)、(2)聚縮合反應時,使熱、氧氣、水等作用,故意地進行樹脂變質等方法,可任意地進行此等方法。就前述酸加成方法中用以酸加成之多元羧酸酐而言,無特別限定,可列舉例如:鄰苯二甲酸酐、四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐、琥珀酸酐、馬來酸酐、偏苯三甲酸酐、均苯四甲酸酐、六氫鄰苯二甲酸酐、3,3,4,4-二苯甲酮四羧酸二酐、3,3,4,4-聯苯四羧酸二酐、乙二醇雙苯偏三甲酸酐等,可使用它們中的1種或2種以上。理想為偏苯三甲酸酐。又,用以前述酸加成之3價以上之多元羧酸成分及/或3價以上之多元羧酸酐成分,不包含在令多元羧酸成分為100莫耳%時之計算。
>水分散體>
水分散體係含有前述共聚聚酯及水之組成物,理想為將共聚聚酯分散於有機溶劑及水而得之組成物。就有機溶劑而言,以具有親水性者為理想,可列舉如:甲醇、乙醇、異丙醇、2-乙基己醇等醇類、正丁基賽路蘇、三級丁基賽路蘇、丙二醇單甲基醚、二丙二醇單甲基醚等醚類、乙二醇、二乙二醇、三乙二醇、丙二醇、二丙二醇、三丙二醇、2-甲基-1,3-丙二醇、1,4-丁二醇等二醇類。又,只要係在製成水分散體時不分離者,亦可使用親水性低之環己酮、異佛酮等酮類等,可考慮溶解性、蒸發速度(乾燥性)等而任意地選擇、摻合。其中,以醚類為理想,二醇醚系為宜。有機溶劑相對於共聚聚酯100質量份,理想為20質量份以上,藉由有機溶劑落在前述範圍內,可使長期之保存安定性良好。就水分散體之固體成分濃度而言,以45質量份以下為理想,藉由固體成分濃度落在前述範圍內,可使作業性良好。
為了改善本發明之共聚聚酯分散於水中的分散性,可利用鹼成分來中和共聚聚酯中之酸成分,製成中和鹽為理想。就可使用之鹼成分而言,無特別限定,可自由地選自於氫氧化鋰、氫氧化鈉、氫氧化鉀等鹼金屬鹽、氨、單乙醇胺、三乙基胺、二甲基胺基乙醇、二氮雜雙環十一烯等有機胺等。藉由製成中和鹽,可作為保存安定性良好之水分散體利用。就鹼成分而言,相對於共聚聚酯100質量份,係1質量份以上為理想,宜為1.5質量份以上,較佳為2質量份以上。此外,5質量份以下為理想,宜為4質量份以下,較佳為3質量份以下。
[實施例]
下列,列舉實施例來具體地說明本發明。又,本實施例及比較例中,簡單記載為「份」來表示質量份。
(1)共聚聚酯之組成之測定
使用400MHz的1
H-核磁共振光譜裝置(以下有簡稱為NMR之情形),進行構成共聚聚酯之多元羧酸成分、多元醇成分之莫耳比定量。溶劑使用氘代氯仿。此外,藉由酸的後加成提升共聚聚酯之酸價時,係令酸後加成所使用之酸成分以外的酸成分之合計為100莫耳%,算出各成分之莫耳比。
(2)共聚聚酯之數量平均分子量之測定
將4mg的試料(共聚聚酯)溶解於4mL的四氫呋喃後,利用孔徑0.2μm的聚四氟乙烯製薄膜濾器進行過濾。將其作為試料溶液,利用凝膠滲透層析(GPC)進行分析。裝置使用TOSOH HLC-8220,檢測器使用示差折射計,移動相使用四氫呋喃,在流速1mL/分鐘、管柱溫度40℃之條件進行測定。管柱係將昭和電工製KF-802、804L、806L串聯使用。分子量標準係使用單分散聚苯乙烯,數量平均分子量係標準聚苯乙烯之換算值,省略了相當於分子量未達1000的部分而算出。
(3)玻璃轉移溫度之測定
利用示差掃描型熱量計(SII公司,DSC-200)進行測定。將5mg的試料(共聚聚酯)投入鋁蓋型容器並密封,使用液態氮冷卻至-50℃。然後,以20℃/分鐘之升溫速度進行升溫至150℃,在升溫過程所得之吸熱曲線中,將吸熱峰部出現前(玻璃轉移溫度以下)之基線的延長線、與朝向吸熱峰部之切線(表示從峰部的隆起部分至峰部的頂點為止之間的最大斜度之切線)之交點的溫度,設為玻璃轉移溫度(Tg,單位:℃)。
(4)酸價之測定
精秤出0.2g的試料(共聚聚酯),溶解於40ml的氯仿。然後,利用0.01N的氫氧化鉀之乙醇溶液進行滴定。指示劑使用酚酞。對試料求出氫氧化鉀當量,將測定值換算為試料每106
g之當量,單位設為當量/106
g。
(5)還原黏度ηsp/c(dl/g)之測定
將0.1±0.005g的試料(共聚聚酯)溶解於25cc的苯酚/四氯乙烷(重量比6/4)之混合溶劑,使用烏氏黏度管在30℃之條件進行測定。
下列揭示本發明之共聚聚酯、及比較例之共聚聚酯之製造例。
共聚聚酯(a1)之製造例
對具備攪拌機、冷凝器、溫度計之反應容器投入453份的1,4-環己烷二甲酸、174份的四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐、113份的三羥甲基丙烷、566份的1,6-己烷二醇,作為觸媒之相對於全部酸成分為0.03莫耳%之正鈦酸四丁酯,歷時4小時從160℃升溫至220℃,邊經過脫水步驟邊進行酯化反應。然後,聚縮合反應步驟係耗費20分鐘使系統內減壓至5mmHg,再進行升溫直到250℃。然後,減壓至0.3mmHg以下,進行60分鐘的聚縮合反應。此後,冷卻至180℃,投入30份的偏苯三甲酸酐,使其反應30分鐘。將其取出。所得之共聚聚酯(a1)利用NMR之組成進行分析之結果,莫耳比為1,4-環己烷二甲酸/四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐/三羥甲基丙烷/1,6-己烷二醇=70/30/15/85[莫耳比]。此外,數平均分子量為6000,玻璃轉移溫度為-20℃,酸價為396當量/106
g。結果記載於表1。
共聚聚酯(a2)~(a15)之製造例
以共聚聚酯(a1)之製造例為基準,變更原料之種類與摻合比率,合成共聚聚酯(a2)~(a15)。將結果記載於表1。
水分散體(b1)之製造例
將500份的上述共聚聚酯(a1)溶解於188份的正丁基賽路蘇,添加13份的二甲基胺基乙醇後,添加549份的離子交換水,得到水分散體(b1)。將結果記載於表1。
水分散體(b2)~(b15)之製造例
以水分散體(b1)之製造例為準,變更原料之種類與摻合比率,製造本發明之水分散體(b2)~(b15)。將結果記載於表1。

水分散體之評價(保存安定性)
將聚酯水分散體(b1)~(b15)在5℃、及25℃靜置3個月,確認在各溫度的溶液黏度之變化。黏度之上升愈小保存安定性愈良好。溶液黏度之測定係將聚酯水分散體填充於玻璃容器,在25℃利用東機產業公司製BL型黏度計測定。轉速設為30rpm。

將剛合成的聚酯水分散體(b1)~(b15)邊攪拌邊加熱,蒸發溶劑使固體成分濃度成為50質量%為止,溶液黏度利用BROOKFIELD公司製錐板型黏度計(HBDV-Ⅱ+P CP)進行測定。在固體成分濃度50質量%時溶液黏度越低則整平性越良好。
評價基準
○:500Pa・s以下
△:超過500Pa・s且1000Pa・s以下
×:超過1000Pa・s
實施例1(水性塗料之製備)
將100份的氧化鈦(CR-93:石原產業製)、179份的離子交換水、289份的玻璃珠投入到玻璃容器,利用震盪器分散6小時,得到顏料糊劑(X)。然後,將100份的水分散體(b1)、11份的三聚氰胺樹脂(CYMEL(註冊商標)327:ALLNEX公司)、140份的顏料糊劑(X)、0.3份的整平劑(BYK(註冊商標)-381:BYK公司)在容器中摻合,藉由攪拌得到水性塗料(A1)。
實施例2~11、比較例1~4(水性塗料(A2)~(A15)之製備)
利用與水性塗料(A1)同樣的方法,得到本發明之實施例或比較例的水性塗料(A2)~(A15)。
金屬塗裝板之評價
(試驗片之製作)
以乾燥後之膜厚成為12μm的方式將前述實施例及比較例所得之水性塗料塗裝於0.5mm厚的BONDE(註冊商標)鋼板,在250℃乾燥50秒鐘,得到金屬塗裝板之試驗片。
(加工性)
使前述金屬塗裝板試驗片在25℃之條件以塗膜面為外側進行180°彎曲測試,目視確認塗膜之破裂。例如2T係指:夾持2片與金屬板塗裝板試驗片相同厚度的金屬板並折曲時不發生塗膜之破裂。數字愈小則彎曲性愈良好。
評價基準
○:1T以上
△:2~3T
×:4T以下
(耐水密合性)
以膠帶保護前述金屬塗裝板試驗片之端部,在95℃溫水中使其浸漬24小時。浸漬後,在取出之金屬塗裝板試驗片上的塗膜,以到達底材的方式切割出1mm間隔的棋盤格狀,製作100個尺寸1mm×1mm的棋盤格。在其表面黏貼膠帶,檢查在20℃迅速剝離該膠帶後之棋盤格塗膜的殘存數。
評價基準
◎:塗膜殘存格數80個以上
○:塗膜殘存格數30~79個
△:塗膜殘存格數78~39個
×:塗膜殘存格數38個以下
(耐候性)
利用超級UV試驗機(經時變化之加速試驗)對前述金屬塗裝板試驗片照射48小時(測定條件:溫度50℃,濕度50%之條件,UV燈照射量100mW)(48小時試驗)。依據48小時試驗前後之光澤維持率而進行耐候性之評價。此處,光澤係利用GLOSS METER(東京電飾公司製),測定60度之反射。
評價基準
◎:光澤維持率90%以上
○:光澤維持率70%以上且未達90%
△:光澤維持率50%以上且未達70%
×:光澤維持率未達50%
[產業上之利用性]
本發明之共聚聚酯及水分散體,其保存安定性、耐水密合性、加工性、耐水性、耐候性、整平性優異,作為水性塗料用樹脂係為有用。
Claims (3)
- 一種共聚聚酯,其係將多元羧酸成分及多元醇成分作為共聚合成分,令多元羧酸成分為100莫耳%時,脂環族多元羧酸成分為50莫耳%以上,酸價為170當量/106g~1000當量/106g,玻璃轉移溫度為5℃以下;該脂環族多元羧酸成分係將1,4-環己烷二甲酸及四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐併用,1,4-環己烷二甲酸/四氫鄰苯二甲酸酐之莫耳比=90~50/10~50。
- 如請求項1之共聚聚酯,其中,數平均分子量為10000以下。
- 一種共聚聚酯水分散體,其含有如請求項1或2之共聚聚酯及水。
