UE 111中之每一者可操作以根據OFDMA技術經由多載波通訊頻道來接收OFDMA通訊信號。OFDMA技術可按使用不同上行鏈路及下行鏈路頻譜之頻域雙工(FDD)模式或按對於上行鏈路及下行鏈路使用相同頻譜之時域雙工(TDD)模式來操作。OFDMA通訊信號可包含正交副載波。
隨著網路100中之UE 111的數目激增,無線電鏈路中之壅塞可引起當前使用者的體驗品質之降級,且新使用者可不能夠獲得無線電資源。在一些當前系統中,設置 了存取限制機制以用於對處於RRC IDLE中之UE 111及對新使用者的壅塞控制。
本文中之實施例提供用於在RRC_CONNECTED模式下之裝置的壅塞控制機制。實施例提供用以藉由允許RAN節點在UE 111處於連接模式時顯式地暫止特定資料無線電承載者(DRB)或傳信無線電承載者(SRB)來防止由無線電傳信或使用者訊務引起之無線電存取網路(RAN)壅塞的方法。
在根據(例如)3GPP TS 36.331操作之一些當前系統中,當存在失敗(例如,行動性失敗、無線電鏈路失敗或無線電資源控制(RRC)連接重新組配失敗等)時,暫止UE中之無線電承載者(RB)。系統可在啟動存取層(AS)安全性之後使用RRC連接重新建立程序來再繼續此等RB。舉例而言,當前系統可在AS安全性啟動之後使用RRC連接重新組配來再繼續RB。在實施於一些當前系統中之此程序中,所有RB被丟棄,且RB之重新建立可為具有高成本傳信額外負荷之相對較長程序。另外,可用系統不提供eNodeB 102在連接模式期間暫止特定RB,此暫止將有助於消除額外無線電鏈路壅塞情形。
各種實施例提供使eNodeB 102在連接模式期間暫止特定RB之不同方法。各種實施例可應用至在已建立至少一個DRB的情況下在連接模式中的UE 111的非保證位元速率(GBR)承載者。然而,諸實施例不限於此,且一些實施例可應用於SRB及GBR DRB或任何其他已定義的專用無線 電承載者(例如,小資料無線電承載者(SDRB))。
在各種實施例中,eNodeB 102將判定網路100上存在情況(例如,壅塞情況、超載情況或其他情況)。至少部分地基於此判定,eNodeB 102將傳輸暫止通知至UE 111,以便通知UE在網路100中操作之RB將被暫止。在各種實施例中,UE 111將處於與eNodeB 102之RRC_CONNECTED狀態中。本文中論述用於判定壅塞情況之存在的程序及準則以及用於通知UE 111暫止之程序。
一些實施例提供用以暫止及再繼續RB之擴展RRC連接重新組配訊息。在至少此等實施例中,eNodeB 102將發送具有暫止通知之RRC連接重新組配訊息至UE 111。暫止通知將至少包括待暫止之RB的識別資訊。UE 111將使用RRC連接重新組配完成訊息來應答:UE 111已將對應RB置於暫止狀態中。可在eNodeB 102與UE 111之間交換相同或類似訊息以再繼續RB。
在一些實施例中,除RRC連接重新組配訊息外之訊息可用以暫止或再繼續RB。圖2展示根據本文中所描述之一些實施例的在網路100中之元件與裝置間的實例通訊。然而,如一般熟習此項技術者將理解,可發生其他訊息及傳信。
在圖2中所說明之實施例中,eNodeB 102將RRC訊息201傳輸至UE 111。RRC訊息201可為(例如)根據LTE之3GPP標準系列中之標準的暫止無線電承載者訊息,但實施例不限於此。訊息201中之資訊元素(IE)可包括(例如)國際 行動用戶識別碼(IMSI)、UE 111之識別符、演進型封包系統(EPS)承載者識別碼及RB識別碼,但實施例不限於此。
在接收用於對應RB之訊息201(例如,暫止無線電承載者訊息)時,可禁止UE 111在彼RB上起始額外傳信。舉例而言,若UE 111處於連接不連續接收(DRX)模式下時,UE 111將不執行隨機存取(RA)程序或RRC重新組配,除非或直至UE 111自eNodeB 102接收到關於RB之顯式再繼續通知或諸如對RB之上行鏈路授予的隱式通知。
eNodeB 102亦可將回退計時器提供至UE 111,該回退計時器指示UE應在請求暫止RB、未暫止RB或暫止RB與未暫止RB兩者上之資源之前等待回退計時器之期滿。此類請求可包括(例如)起始或試圖起始對暫止RB或未暫止RB之RA或RRC重新組配。eNodeB 102可將回退計時器設定為可允許壅塞情形穩定之值。回退計時器可為當將暫止指示發送至UE 111時eNodeB 102發送至UE 111之參數。
暫止一些RB之決策可為實施相依的。在一些實施例中,網路觸發器及機制或其他準則(例如,包括RB之QoS特性)可界定何時及如何暫止某些RB。一些機制可包括基於儲存於eNodeB 102處或以其他方式可由eNodeB 102存取之RB壅塞資訊的決策。
在一些實施例中,eNodeB 102可自核心網路元件(例如,MME、存取網路發現及選擇功能(ANDSF)、策略及計費規則功能(PCRF)等)接收暫止指示。舉例而言,eNodeB 102可通知MME 101壅塞情況,且MME 101可基於(例如)UE 111訂用資訊來決定將暫止哪些RB。
網路100之業者或由網路業者實施之操作及維護功能(O&M)可歸因於不合需要之UE 111行為、訊務類型或在RB上傳輸之其他UE特定行為而判定暫止RB。網路100之業者或O&M功能可暫止RB以控制超載情形。
eNodeB 102或其他網路元件可考慮在釋放UE 111RRC連接(例如,將UE 111轉至RRCIdle)之前暫止由UE 111使用之哪些RB(若存在)。舉例而言,若eNodeB 102判定暫止RB為在UE 111中在作用中之僅有RB,則eNodeB 102上之用於釋放RRC連接的RRC非使用狀態計時器應被設定或作出回應,以使得不會歸因於非使用狀態而釋放UE 111連接。因此,在一些實施例中,可基於網路之壅塞狀態來調整此非使用狀態計時器,且可能相應地延遲或提前RRC連接釋放。
表1中展示用以暫止DRB之資訊元素(IE)之實例。實例IE可被稱作DRB-ToAddModSuspend,但實施例不限於此。表1之實例IE可包括實施於3GPP TS 36.331之IE DRB-ToAddMod中的額外欄位,例如,suspend-backoff-timer:
在訊息202中,UE 111將傳輸應答以應答暫止通知之接收。訊息202可包括UE 111已將對應RB置於暫止狀態中之應答。該應答可包括對應RB之識別資訊。
在壅塞情況已結束或計時器已期滿等之後,在訊息203中,eNodeB 102可告知UE 111:UE 111可再繼續對應RB上之操作。訊息203可為(例如)根據3GPP LTE標準系列中之標準的再繼續無線電承載者訊息,但實施例不限於此。
在訊息204中,UE 111將傳輸應答以應答再繼續通知之接收。訊息204可包括UE 111已再繼續使用或可稍後再繼續使用先前處於暫止狀態中之對應RB的應答。
根據一些實施例,UE 111可緩衝預期用於暫止RB之UE 111上行鏈路資料,而在下行鏈路中,eNodeB 102可緩衝資料直至對應RB得以再繼續。在一些實施例中,eNodeB 102可藉由告知MME 101暫止或再繼續RB之決策而在CN中起始至少與本文中所描述之暫止/再繼續程序稍微類似之暫止/再繼續程序。在一些實施例中,若暫止RB,則可修改PDCP捨棄計時器。在一些實施例中,UE 111可在對應計時器期滿時捨棄PDCP服務資料單元(SDU)。
在一些實施例中,上層可接收如本文中所描述之暫止及再繼續活動的指示,以使得此等層之實施可考慮到網路壅塞及無線電資源缺乏。
在一些當前系統中,網路100可根據(例如)3GPP TS 24.301在每存取點名稱(APN)基礎上於控制平面上執行 壅塞控制。網路100可拒絕向已壅塞之APN的任何新的對連接之請求。
一些實施例提供以下情形:網路100可暫止分配至APN之某些RB,以接納基於(例如)UE 111訂用或連接類型(例如,延遲容忍對非延遲容忍)而具有較高優先權的UE 111。在此等實施例中,網路100可基於APN壅塞指示而暫止某些RB。因此,根據一些實施例,壅塞控制可涉及在不釋放UE 111網路連接之情況下暫止使用者平面資源,且藉此避免歸因於連接建立之代價高昂的傳信額外負荷。根據一些實施例之壅塞控制可包括允許接納新請求之控制平面功能性。
因為當前系統可在MME中實施壅塞控制,所以實施例將來自MME之通知提供至(例如)eNodeB 102或無線電網路控制器(RNC),以通知eNodeB將暫止RB。eNodeB 102可基於由MME 101提供之資訊來決定暫止哪些RB。當決定暫止RB時,MME資訊可考慮UE 111訂用資訊。eNodeB 102可傳輸應答訊息以應答該等訊息或自MME 101接收之關於RB暫止的其他資訊。
當處於壅塞情況下時,eNodeB 102可動態地暫止及再繼續來自不同UE 111之不同RB。用於此類決策之演算法可能為業者特定的或實施特定的。一些實施例可允許網路100之業者以在不同RB集束於相同EPS承載者中時可有用之更動態方式來管理資源。
一些實施例將訊息301及302添加至如下圖3中所 展示之S1介面(S1-AP),或一些實施例可增強現有OVERLOAD START及OVERLOAD STOP訊息以攜載如本文中所描述之RB暫止資訊。
一旦APN壅塞得到管理,MME 101便通知eNodeB 102。eNodeB 102亦可在RAN超載情形中將壅塞通知提供至MME 101。MME 101可使用此資訊來起始暫止指示。
圖4為展示根據一些實施例的eNodeB 400之細節的方塊圖。eNodeB 400可適合用作eNodeB 102(圖1)。雖然一些實施例係關於根據3GPP LTE操作之eNodeB來加以描述,但其他實施例可包括用於實施根據3GPP UMTS標準之NodeB之功能的類似電路。eNodeB 400包括處理器410、記憶體420、收發器430及指令435。eNodeB 400可包括其他元件(未圖示)。
處理器410包含一或多個中央處理單元(CPU)、圖形處理單元(GPU)或其兩者。處理器410提供用於eNodeB 400之處理及控制功能性。記憶體420包含經組配以儲存用於eNodeB 400之指令435及資料的一或多個暫態及靜態記憶體單元。

收發器430可將暫止通知傳輸至UE 111(其中UE 111處於與eNodeB 400之RRC_CONNECTED狀態中),以通知UE 111在網路100(圖1)中操作之RB將被暫止。可在無線電資源控制(RRC)重新組配訊息中傳輸暫止通知,或可在根據LTE之3GPP標準系列中之標準的RRC暫止無線電承載者訊息中傳輸暫止通知,但實施例不限於此。RRC暫止無線電承載者訊息可包括如本文中所描述之回退計時器,其用以指示UE 111在請求對應RB上之資源之前應等待的持續時間。處理器410可基於回退計時器之值來修改PDCP捨棄計時器。
收發器430可在傳輸暫止通知之後的時點傳輸再繼續通知,以通知UE 111對應RB可供使用。收發器430可回應於通知UE 111至少一個RB將不可用或RB已再繼續而自UE 111接收應答訊息。該應答將包括對應RB之識別資訊。

圖5為根據一些實施例之UE 500的基本組件之方塊圖。UE 500可適合用作UE 111(圖1)。UE 500可支援如本文中關於圖1至圖4所描述的用於壅塞控制之方法。
UE 500包括經配置以與NodeB、eNodeB 102(圖1)或其他類型之無線區域網路(WLAN)存取點通訊的一或多個天線510。UE 500進一步包括處理器520、指令525及記憶體530。UE 500可進一步包括通訊介面540。在一個實施例中,記憶體530包括(但不限於)隨機存取記憶體(RAM)、動態RAM(DRAM)、靜態RAM(SRAM)、同步DRAM(SDRAM)、雙資料速率(DDR)SDRAM(DDR-SDRAM)或能夠支援高速資料緩衝之任何裝置。

Claims (16)
