Description
本發明係關於一種碸(sulfone)化合物。更詳細而言,係關於一種主要可用於電氣化學元件用溶劑等之碸化合物。
碸化合物除了可用於萃取溶劑或各種反應溶劑之外,其電容率高者亦可用作非質子性極性溶劑、電氣化學元件用之溶劑。具體而言,目前已提案有將作為碸化合物之環丁碸或3-甲基環丁碸等之環丁碸衍生物用作電解液之電雙層電容器(專利文獻1)、以及將環丁碸或3-甲基環丁碸等之環丁碸衍生物與碳酸丙烯酯之混合溶劑用作電解液之電雙層電容器(專利文獻2)。
關於用於電氣化學元件用溶劑等之非質子性極性溶劑,一般而言係期待能夠具有低熔點、對熱的安定性優異等性質。此外,隨著電氣化學元件種類的不同,有時會有於系統內存在水分的問題,此情況可較佳使用對水的溶解度低的溶劑。
然而,專利文獻1以及專利文獻2所記載之碸化合物因熔點較高,故於低溫環境會有功能降低等缺點。此外,與該等一同使用之碳酸丙烯酯則有對熱的安定性不佳、對水的溶解度較高之缺點。

本發明之目的在於提供一種熔點較低、對熱的安定性優異之非質子性極性溶劑。
本發明係關於下述式(1)所示之碸化合物。
式(1)中,R1
表示碳數為6~8之分枝鏈狀烷基。
作為R1
所示之碳數為6~8之分枝鏈狀烷基,例如可列舉甲基戊基、二甲基丁基、乙基丁基、甲基己基、二甲基戊基、乙基戊基、三甲基丁基、乙基甲基丁基、丙基丁基、甲基庚基、二甲基己基、乙基己基、三甲基戊基、乙基甲基戊基、丙基戊基、四甲基丁基、乙基二甲基丁基、二乙基丁基、以及丙基甲基丁基等。
式(1)中,R1
所示之分枝鏈狀烷基若碳數為5以下,則對水的溶解度會過高;若碳數為9以上,則熔點會過高因而不佳。
作為式(1)所示之本發明之碸化合物的具體例,例如可列舉甲基2-甲基戊碸、甲基2,3-二甲基丁碸、甲基2-乙基丁碸、甲基2-甲基己碸、甲基2,3-二甲基戊碸、甲基2-乙基戊碸、甲基2,2,3-三甲基丁碸、甲基2-乙基-3-甲基丁碸、甲基2-甲基庚碸、甲基2,3-二甲基己碸、甲基2-乙基己碸、甲基2-丙基戊碸、甲基2,2,3-三甲基戊碸、甲基2-乙基-3-甲基戊碸、甲基2,2,3,3-四甲基丁碸、甲基2-乙基-2,3-二甲基丁碸、甲基2,3-二乙基丁碸、以及甲基2-丙基-3-甲基丁碸等。
上述碸化合物之中,以熔點較低、對水的溶解度較低的觀點考量,式(1)中R1
所示之分枝鏈狀烷基較佳為碳數為8、更佳為甲基2-甲基庚碸、甲基2-丙基戊碸、以及甲基2-乙基己碸、最佳為甲基2-乙基己碸。
式(1)所示之碸化合物,例如可藉由如下方式製造:將式(2)所示之有機鹵化物與甲烷硫醇之鈉鹽反應,成為式(3)所示之硫化物,再利用氧化劑氧化該硫化物而製得。
式(2)中,R1
表示碳數為6~8之分枝鏈狀烷基。X表示鹵原子。
式(3)中,R1
表示與式(2)中之R1
為相同之基。
式(2)所示之有機鹵化物以及甲烷硫醇之鈉鹽可使用市售品。
作為上述有機鹵化物的具體例,例如可列舉2-(碘甲基)庚烷、4-(溴甲基)庚烷、以及3-(氯甲基)庚烷等。
式(2)所示之有機鹵化物與甲烷硫醇之鈉鹽的反應中,甲烷硫醇之鈉鹽的使用比例相對於上述有機鹵化物1莫耳較佳為0.5~10莫耳、更佳為0.5~5莫耳。
上述硫醇之鈉鹽與有機鹵化物反應之際雖可不使用溶劑,但於原料為固體或反應液黏度高、攪拌不充分的情況等亦可視情況使用溶劑。作為使用之溶劑並無特別限定,例如可列舉甲醇、乙醇、丙醇、丁醇、戊醇、己醇、庚醇、辛醇、壬醇、癸醇、十一醇、十二醇、十三醇、十四醇、環己醇、乙二醇、丙二醇等之醇類;二乙醚、二丙醚、二丁醚、二戊醚、二己醚、二庚醚、二辛醚、四氫呋喃、四氫吡喃、1,4-二噁烷等之醚類;乙腈、丙烯腈、丙腈等之腈類;丙酮、甲乙酮、甲基異丁酮、以及環己酮等之酮類;丁內酯、己內酯、6-己內酯、以及乙酸乙酯等之酯類;二甲基亞碸等之亞碸類;戊烷、己烷、庚烷、辛烷、壬烷、癸烷、十一烷、十二烷、環己烷、石油醚、石腦油、煤油、甲苯、二甲苯、均三甲苯、以及苯等之烴類;以及水等。該等之中又以甲醇以及水較適用。該等溶劑,可單獨使用1種,亦可組合使用2種以上。
上述溶劑的使用量並無特別限定,相對於有機鹵化物100重量份較佳為100~5000重量份。
反應溫度較佳為0~200℃、更佳為10~150℃。反應時間通常為1~30小時。
本發明之碸化合物之製造方法中,作為用以氧化上述式(3)所示之硫化物的氧化劑的具體例並無特別限定,例如可列舉過錳酸鉀、鉻酸、氧、雙氧水、以及3-過氯苯甲酸等之有機氧化物等。該等之中又以使用雙氧水較佳。
氧化劑的使用比例,相對於硫化物1莫耳較佳為1.8~10莫耳、更佳為2~5莫耳。
於氧化硫化物之際雖可不使用溶劑,但於原料為固體或反應液黏度高、攪拌不充分的情況等亦可視情況使用溶劑。作為使用之溶劑並無特別限定,例如可列舉四氯化碳、三氯甲烷、二氯甲烷、溴丙烷、溴丁烷、溴戊烷、溴己烷、碘甲烷、碘乙烷、以及碘丙烷等之鹵化烷類;丙酮、甲乙酮、甲基異丁酮、以及環己酮等之酮類;戊烷、己烷、庚烷、辛烷、壬烷、癸烷、十一烷、十二烷、環己烷、石油醚、石腦油、煤油、甲苯、二甲苯、均三甲苯、以及苯等之烴類;以及水等。該等之中又以鹵化烷類以及水較適用。該等溶劑,可單獨使用1種,亦可組合使用2種以上。
上述溶劑的使用量並無特別限定,相對於硫化物100重量份較佳為100~5000重量份。
反應溫度較佳為0~200℃、更佳為10~150℃。反應時間通常為1~30小時。
如此所製得之碸化合物,視情況可於水洗、分液之後,藉由蒸餾來分離。
本發明之碸化合物,例如可適用於電解質溶劑等之電氣化學元件用溶劑。
作為上述電氣化學元件,例如可列舉鋰一次電池、鋰二次電池、鋰離子電池、燃料電池、太陽電池、電雙層電容器等。
本發明之碸化合物具有對水的溶解度低的特徵。因此,用於上述電氣化學元件用溶劑時,可抑制水的混入,並可防止電流效率的降低以及內壓上升等發生。
此外,本發明之碸化合物因熔點較低,對熱的安定性優異,故可於低溫至高溫之廣溫度範圍安全地使用。
再者,本發明之碸化合物因黏度較低,故可大幅提高電解質的離子導電性,而可實現高電氣特性。
本發明之碸化合物之熔點較低、且對熱的安定性優異,此外因其為對水的溶解度低之非質子性極性溶劑,故主要可用於電氣化學元件用溶劑。
以下舉出實施例對本發明進行更具體的說明,但本發明並不限於該等實施例中。
實施例1[甲基2-乙基己碸(MEHS)的合成]
於氮氣環境氣氛下,將3-(氯甲基)庚烷74.4g(0.50mol)裝入具備有攪拌機、溫度計以及冷卻器之容積200mL的四口燒瓶中,一邊緩慢添加28%甲基硫醇的鈉水溶液187.8g(0.75mol)一邊維持於60℃攪拌2小時。接著,添加二氯甲烷50ml於上述溶液,攪拌10分鐘後,分離二氯甲烷層,並以超純水30mL洗淨1次。添加35%雙氧水102.0g(1.05mol)至所得之二氯甲烷層,維持於60℃攪拌2小時,再將二氯甲烷層蒸餾,藉此製得無色透明液體之甲基2-乙基己碸86.5g。製得之甲基2-乙基己碸的收率相對於3-(氯甲基)庚烷為90%。
關於製得之甲基2-乙基己碸的熔點以及發熱起始溫度,係於氮環境氣氛下使用示差掃描熱析儀進行測定。此外,關於對水的溶解度,係使用卡爾費雪法(Karl Fischer's method)電量滴定裝置測定已飽和溶解有水之該碸化合物的含水量來求出。
此外,製得之甲基2-乙基己碸因具有以下物性故可得到確認。

元素分析:C 56.2;H 10.5;S 16.7(計算值C 56.2;H 10.5;S 16.7)
實施例1中之熔點、發熱起始溫度、以及對水的溶解度的測定結果,與作為比較例1之碳酸丙酯、作為比較例2之環丁碸的測定結果一併示於表1。
產業上之可利用性
依據本發明,可提供一種熔點較低、且對熱的安定性優異之主要可用於電氣化學元件用溶劑等之非質子性極性溶劑。
