Description
本發明關於一種用於二次電池的袋狀殼體及含彼之袋狀二次電池,且更具體地說,關於一種由內樹脂層/中間樹脂層/外樹脂層構成之多層袋狀殼體,其用於防止電池在充電和放電過程中由於袋狀殼體的腐蝕所引起之水分滲透的性能劣化,及一種含彼之袋狀二次電池。
最近,隨著可攜式小型電子裝置已經商業化同時實現電子設備的小型化和輕量化,對於作為能量源之二次電池的需求已經顯著增加。鋰二次電池呈現比使用藉由利用有機電解質溶液之鹼性水溶液的典型電池高二倍或更多倍的放電電壓和能量密度。
鋰二次電池係藉由使用能夠嵌入和脫嵌鋰離子之材料作為陽極和陰極,並將陰極和陽極之間的電解質溶液充電而製得。此外,當鋰離子在陰極和陽極中嵌入和脫嵌時,該鋰二次電池藉由氧化和還原反應產生電能。
視電解質溶液的類型而定,鋰二次電池可分為使用液體電解質溶液的鋰離子電池和使用聚合物固體電解質溶液的鋰離子聚合物電池。此外,視聚合物固體電解質溶液的類型而定,鋰離子聚合物電池可分為全固體型鋰離子聚合物電池,其中一點都不包含電解質溶液,及使用含有電解質溶液之凝膠型聚合物電解質溶液的鋰離子聚合物電池。
關於使用液體電解質溶液的鋰離子電池,通常使用圓柱形或棱柱形金屬罐容器且以焊接密封。關於棱柱形鋰二次電池,其在保護電極組合件不受外部碰撞和促進液體注入方法上是有利的。然而,因為該棱柱形鋰二次電池的形狀被固定,所以很難減小其體積。因此,關於使用棱柱形鋰二次電池作為電源之電氣產品,在彼等的設計方面也有限制。此外,在安全性方面,由於排放氣體或液體的效果並不顯著,所以內熱和氣體被累積。因此,爆炸的風險可能很高,且由於因為內熱不能有效地釋放而過熱,導致電池劣化所需的時間可能很短。
為了改良該等限制,最近已經開發袋狀二次電池,其中該袋狀二次電池係藉由將其中堆疊並捲繞陰極、陽極和隔板之電極組合件放入由薄膜形成的袋狀殼體中,注入一種電解質溶液,然後將該袋狀殼體密封而製得。
如圖1中所示,該袋狀殼體係由內層a(由於其連續熱封性而充當密封劑)、金屬層b(充當水分和
氧氣阻擋層,同時保持機械強度)及外層c(其充當保護層)順序地組成。在此情況下,內層a係形成為多層結構,其中堆疊通常用作以聚烯烴為底之樹脂層的流延聚丙烯(CPP)層11和PPa層13,金屬層b係由鋁(Al)層15形成,及外層c係形成為多層結構,其中堆疊聚對酞酸乙二酯(PET)層17和耐綸層19。
關於袋狀二次電池,其具有優點在於:形狀和尺寸沒有限制,容易藉由熱熔接組合件,且其具有高安全性,因為當異常行為發生時,排放氣體或液體的效果變得容易。因此,袋狀二次電池特別適合於製備薄電池。
然而,因為袋狀二次電池,與棱形二次電池不同,使用軟袋作為殼體,所以袋狀二次電池的殼體可能具有低物理和機械強度,並且可能具有低密封可靠性。
例如,六氟磷酸鋰(LiPF6)係包括在袋狀二次電池中所使用之電解質溶液內,其中因為在充電和放電過程中,六氟磷酸鋰被分解成鋰(Li)和PF6以將鋰離子提供至電解質,所以其係用以增加鋰離子的擴散。然而,因為六氟磷酸鋰具有非常好的親水性,所以六氟磷酸鋰與包含在空氣中之具有數個百分比(%)的相對濕度之水分(H2O)反應而形成氫氧化鋰(LiOH)以及由於H+與PF6的單一氟(F)原子的反應而形成氫氟酸(HF)氣體。HF氣體可能增加該袋的厚度,並可能進一步導致爆炸。
此外,因為在殼體形成期間,在內樹脂層a由於內應力被損壞的同時金屬層b露出而與溶解在電解質
溶液中之鋰鹽的離子23反應,所以在金屬層b的表面上形成鋰-鋁合金25。因此形成之鋰-鋁合金25在與滲透的水分27反應形成HF氣體和微孔時可進一步損壞袋狀殼體。結果,因為HF氣體增加且在損壞袋中的水分滲透變得容易,所以在強酸性條件下Li-Al合金的溶解變得更為加劇。因此,該孔的大小逐漸增加29。最後,此可能造成袋狀殼體的腐蝕而導致電解質溶液的洩漏(參見圖2)。
本發明提供一種用於改良鋰二次電池的電性能之新組態多層袋狀殼體,其可防止袋狀殼體在充電和放電過程中的腐蝕,及含彼之袋狀二次電池。
根據本發明一方面,提供有一種二次電池之袋狀殼體,其係藉由堆疊內樹脂層、中間樹脂層、和外樹脂層形成。
在此情況下,該袋狀殼體包括以丙烯酸酯-胺甲酸乙酯為底之樹脂或以環氧基為底之樹脂作為中間樹脂層。
根據本發明另一方面,提供有一種袋狀二次電池,其包括:電極組合件;及容納該電極組合件之袋狀
殼體。
在本發明中,不僅可藉由提供一種由內樹脂層、中間樹脂層、和外樹脂層組成之袋狀殼體防止袋的腐蝕現象,且亦可藉由防止由於腐蝕現象導致的水分滲透,而製備具有極佳穩定性的袋狀二次電池。

在下文中,將更詳細描述本發明,以使更清楚地了解本發明。應該理解的是,在說明書和申請專利範圍中所使用的詞語或術語不應解釋為常用字典中所定義的含義。應進一步理解的是:詞語或術語應解釋為具有與彼等在相關技術和本發明的技術思想範圍內一致的意義,根據該原則,發明者可適當定義詞語或術語的意義,以最佳
地解釋本發明。
在根據本發明之電池的袋狀殼體中,所提供的是藉由堆疊內樹脂層、中間樹脂層和外樹脂層形成之袋狀殼體。
此外,在本發明中,所提供的是一種袋狀二次電池,其包括:電極組合件;及容納該電極組合件之袋狀殼體。
在下文中,將參照附圖來更詳細地描述本發明。
如圖3中所示,根據本發明之一具體實例的電池之袋狀殼體包括內樹脂層A(由於其熱密封性而充當密封劑)、中間樹脂層B(其充當阻斷水分滲透和電荷傳輸而防止副反應之絕緣層)、及外樹脂層C(其充當基底材料和保護層)。
在此情況下,該內樹脂層和外樹脂層可為一種由至少一層所組成的樹脂複合層。
具體來說,在本發明之袋狀殼體中,該內樹脂層可包括選自由下列所組成群組中之一者的單層:流延聚丙烯(CPP)、聚丙烯-丁烯-乙烯三元共聚物、聚丙烯、聚乙烯、乙烯-丙烯共聚物、乙烯-丙烯酸共聚物、及丙烯-丙烯酸共聚物、或其二或多者的複合層。
在此情況下,該內樹脂層的厚度係在10μm至100μm之範圍。
此外,在本發明之袋狀殼體中,該中間樹脂
層可包括以丙烯酸酯-胺甲酸乙酯為底之樹脂或以環氧基為底之樹脂。
具體來說,該以丙烯酸酯-胺甲酸乙酯為底之樹脂進一步包含以丙烯腈為底之樹脂。
在此情況下,該中間樹脂層的厚度係在60μm至100μm之範圍。
在本發明之袋狀殼體中,將樹脂熔化或溶解於溶劑中以製造薄膜,及然後藉由塗佈或層合內樹脂層與該薄膜而形成中間樹脂層。
在此情況下,該溶劑沒有特別限制,只要其可溶解樹脂即可。
此外,在本發明之袋狀殼體中之外樹脂層可包括選自由下列所組成群組中之一者的單層:聚乙烯、聚丙烯、聚對酞酸乙二酯、耐綸、低密度聚乙烯(LDPE)、高密度聚乙烯(HDPE),及線性低密度聚乙烯(LLDPE)、或其二或多者的複合層。
在此情況下,該外樹脂層的厚度係在10μm至100μm之範圍。
此外,在本發明中,所提供的是一種袋狀二次電池,其包括電極組合件;及容納該電極組合件的本發明之袋狀殼體。
在此情況下,將包括陽極活性材料之陽極和包括陰極活性材料之陰極的被隔離並纏繞且將隔板放置在其間,而如形成組合件。
具體來說,例如,用陰極活性材料、導電劑和黏合劑之混合物塗佈陰極集電器,且然後藉由乾燥陰極集電器而製得陰極。如果需要的話,填料可進一步加至該混合物。
根據本發明之陰極活性材料可藉由與下列化合物混合而使用:層狀化合物諸如鋰鈷氧化物(LiCoO2)和鋰鎳氧化物(LiNiO2)、或以一或多個過渡金屬取代的化合物;鋰錳氧化物諸如化學式Li1+xMn2-xO4(其中x為從0至0.33)、LiMnO3、LiMn2O3、和LiMnO2;鋰銅氧化物(Li2CuO2);釩氧化物諸如LiV3O8、LiFe3O4、V2O5、和Cu2V2O7;以化學式LiNi1-xMxO2表示的鋰化氧化鎳(其中M為鈷(Co)、錳(Mn)、鋁(Al)、銅(Cu)、鐵(Fe)、鎂(Mg)、硼(B)、或鎵(Ga),且x範圍從0.01至0.3);以化學式LiMn2-xMxO2表示的鋰錳錯合氧化物(其中M為Co、鎳(Ni)、Fe、鉻(Cr)、鋅(Zn)、或鉭(Ta),且x範圍從0.01至0.1)、或Li2Mn3MO8(其中M為Fe、Co、Ni、Cu、或Zn);LiMn2O4,其中有化學式中部分Li以鹼土金屬離子取代;二硫化合物;及具有鋰嵌入材料作為主成分的化合物諸如Fe2(MoO4)3或以其組合形成的錯合氧化物。
一般,將陰極集電器製成具有約3μm至約500μm的厚度。沒有特別限制陰極集電器,只要其具有高電導性而不會在電池中造成不利的化學變化即可。陰極集電器可由(例如)不銹鋼、鋁、鎳、鈦、燒結碳或用
碳、鎳、鈦、銀等等表面處理的鋁或不銹鋼形成。該集電器可具有不平表面以改良與陰極活性材料之黏合強度且可具有任何各種形狀諸如薄膜、片、箔、網、多孔體、發泡體、非織物體、等等之形狀。
導電材料通常以包括陰極活性材料之混合物總重計為1wt%至50wt%的量添加。可使用任何導電劑而沒有特別的限制,只要其具有適當導電而不會在電池中造成不利的化學變化即可。例如,導電劑可包括導電材料諸如:石墨諸如天然和人造石墨;碳黑諸如乙炔黑、科琴黑(Ketjen black)、槽黑(channel black)、爐黑、燈黑、和熱碳黑(thermal black);導電纖維諸如碳纖維和金屬纖維;金屬粉末諸如氟碳粉末、鋁粉、和鎳粉;導電晶鬚諸如氧化鋅晶鬚和鈦酸鉀晶鬚;導電氧化物諸如氧化鈦;或聚伸苯基衍生物。
黏合劑為有助於電極活性材料和導電材料之間的黏合和有助於與集電器的黏合之成分。黏合劑通常以包括陰極活性材料的混合物之總重量為基準計為1wt%至50wt%的量添加。黏合劑的例子可包括聚偏二氟乙烯、聚乙烯醇、羧甲基纖維素(CMC)、澱粉、羥丙基纖維素、再生纖維素、聚乙烯基吡咯啶酮、四氟乙烯、聚乙烯、聚丙烯、乙烯-丙烯-二烯三元共聚物(EPDM)、磺化EPDM、苯乙烯-丁二烯橡膠、氟橡膠、和各種共聚物、等等。
填料為選擇性地用於抑制陽極膨脹之成分。
沒有特別限制填料,只要其不會在電池中造成不利的化學變化並為纖維材料即可。填料的例子包括以烯烴為底之聚合物諸如聚乙烯和聚丙烯;以及纖維材料諸如玻璃纖維和碳纖維。
此外,陽極係藉由用陽極材料塗覆陽極集電器並乾燥該陽極集電器而製得。如果需要的話,前述成分可進一步包括在內。
通常將陽極集電器製成具有約3μm至約500μm的厚度。沒有特別限制陽極集電器,只要其具有電導性而在電池中不會造成不利的化學變化即可。陽極集電器可由(例如)銅、不鏽鋼、鋁、鎳、鈦、燒結碳、以碳、鎳、鈦、銀等等之一者表面處理的銅或不銹鋼、鋁-鎘合金、等等形成。此外,像陰極集電器一般,陽極集電器具有細表面粗糙度以改良與陽極活性材料之黏合強度。陽極集電器具有各種形狀諸如薄膜、片、箔、網、多孔體、發泡體、非織物體、等等。
陽極材料包括非晶碳或結晶碳,具體而言,可包括碳諸如硬碳及以石墨為底之碳;錯合金屬氧化物諸如LixFe2O3(0x1)、LixWO2(0x1)、SnxMe1-xMe'yOz(Me:Mn、Fe、鉛(Pb)、或鍺(Ge);Me':Al、B、磷(P)、矽(Si)、第一族、第二族及第三族元素、或鹵素;0<x1;1y3;1z8);鋰金屬;鋰合金;以矽為底之合金;以錫為底之合金;金屬氧化物諸如SnO、SnO2、PbO、PbO2、Pb2O3、Pb3O4、Sb2O3、Sb2O4、
Sb2O5、GeO、GeO2、Bi2O3、Bi2O4、和Bi2O5;導電聚合物諸如聚乙炔;或以Li-Co-Ni為底之材料。
作為配置於陰極與陽極之間並隔離此等電極的隔板,可使用一般已知的以聚烯烴為底之隔板和複合隔板二者,複合隔板中於以烯烴為底之基材上形成有機/無機複合層,但本發明不限於此。
具有上述結構之電極組合件係容納在袋狀殼體內且然後藉將電解質溶液注入其中而製得電池。
根據本發明之電解質溶液為一種含鋰鹽之非水性電解質,其由非水性電解質及鋰所形成。可使用非水性電解溶液、有機固體電解質、或無機固體電解質作為非水性電解質。
非水性電解質溶液可為非質子有機溶劑,諸如N-甲基-2-吡咯啶酮、碳酸丙二酯、碳酸乙二酯、碳酸丁二酯、碳酸二甲酯、碳酸二乙酯、γ-丁內酯、1,2-二甲氧基乙烷、2-甲基四氫呋喃、二甲基亞碸、1,3-二氧(1,3-dioxolane)、甲醯胺、二甲基甲醯胺、二氧、乙腈、硝基甲烷、甲酸甲酯、乙酸甲酯、磷酸三酯、三甲氧基甲烷、二氧衍生物、環丁碸、甲基環丁碸、1,3-二甲基-2-咪唑啶酮、碳酸丙二酯衍生物、四氫呋喃衍生物、醚、丙酸甲酯和丙酸乙酯。
有機固體電解質的例子可為聚乙烯衍生物、聚氧化乙烯衍生物、聚氧化丙烯衍生物、磷酸酯聚合物、聚攪拌離胺酸(poly agitation lysine)、聚酯硫化物、聚
乙烯醇、聚偏二氟乙烯及含有離子解離基團之聚合物。
該無機固體電解質的例子包括鋰(Li)之氮化物、鹵化物及硫酸鹽,諸如Li3N、LiI、Li5NI2、Li3N-LiI-LiOH、LiSiO4、LiSiO4-LiI-LiOH、Li2SiS3、Li4SiO4、Li4SiO4-LiI-LiOH、及Li3PO4-Li2S-SiS2。
鋰鹽為在該非水性電解質中易溶的材料且例如可包括LiCl、LiBr、LiI、LiClO4、LiBF4、LiB10Cl10、LiPF6、LiCF3SO3、LiCF3CO2、LiAsF6、LiSbF6、LiAlCl4、CH3SO3Li、CF3SO3Li、(CF3SO2)2NLi、氯硼烷鋰(chloroborane lithium)、低碳脂族羧酸鋰、四苯硼酸鋰及亞胺鋰。
此外,為了改善充電/放電特性及阻燃性,可將例如吡啶、三乙基亞磷酸鹽、三乙醇胺、環醚、乙二胺、正甘醇二甲醚(n-glyme)、六磷三醯胺、硝基苯衍生物、硫、醌亞胺染料、N-取代之噁唑啶酮、N,N-取代之咪唑啶、乙二醇二烷基醚、銨鹽、吡咯、2-甲氧基乙醇、三氯化鋁加至該非水性電解質。在一些情況下,為了賦予不燃性,可進一步包括含鹵素溶劑,諸如四氯化碳和三氟乙烯,及為了改良高溫儲存特性,可進一步包括二氧化碳氣體。
袋狀二次電池可為鋰二次電池,但本發明不限於此。
本發明之袋狀二次電池可用作電池模組之單位電池、中和大尺寸裝置的電源。

Claims (12)
- 一種二次電池之袋狀殼體,其係藉由堆疊內樹脂層、中間樹脂層、和外樹脂層形成。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋狀殼體,其中該內樹脂層和外樹脂層分別為由至少一層構成的樹脂複合層。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋狀殼體,該內樹脂層包含選自由下列所組成群組中之一者的單層:流延聚丙烯(CPP)、聚丙烯-丁烯-乙烯三元共聚物、聚丙烯、聚乙烯、乙烯-丙烯共聚物、乙烯-丙烯酸共聚物、及丙烯-丙烯酸共聚物、或其二或多者的複合層。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋狀殼體,其中內樹脂層的厚度係在10μm至100μm之範圍。
- 如申請專利範圍第1項之袋狀殼體,其中該中間樹脂層包含以丙烯酸酯-胺甲酸乙酯為底之樹脂或以環氧基為底之樹脂。
