Abstract
Description
The invention relates to the field of road construction, in particular to the construction of roads with artificial irregularities, and can be applied in the construction and repair of roads.
A well-known road, containing on the roadway an artificial roughness, made stepped, including several layers located one above the other (US 3880537 A, 04/29/1975). The disadvantage is that it is designed to forcibly reduce the speed of movement to the same extent both in the forward direction of the vehicle and in the opposite.
The specified road is technically the closest to the proposed invention and adopted as a prototype.
The invention was tasked with improving traffic safety.
The technical result of the invention is to increase traffic safety, reducing the number of road traffic accidents associated with traveling to the oncoming lane.
The technical result is achieved due to the fact that on a road containing artificial roughness on the roadway, the artificial roughness is a stepped artificial roughness, including several layers located one above the other, and the higher the layer is located, the smaller its width, and the artificial roughness is made with a transverse profile, in which the vehicle, when driving in the forward direction, has less resistance than when driving in the opposite direction.
In the particular case, the layer is made of plastic material.
The drawing conventionally shows a road, side view. The road contains sections 1 and 2 with corresponding artificial irregularities. The arrow shows the direction of movement of vehicles.
6, 7, 8.Section 1 has an artificial unevenness consisting of
The road is used as follows.
On sections 1 and 2 of the road, artificial bumps are arranged. When moving along the road, the vehicle runs almost smoothly, without bumps and noise (which is especially important in the conditions of a settlement), colliding with both artificial bumps. The exit of the vehicle with the artificial roughness located in section 1 occurs as smoothly as the collision. The specified artificial roughness creates the same resistance to the vehicle both when driving in the forward direction and in the opposite direction. However, material savings and a reduction in the cost of manufacturing the road are achieved here. This creates a noise effect sufficient to shake the driver and draw his attention to the need to comply with the speed limit. When driving in the forward direction in section 2, the vehicle experiences less resistance to movement than when moving in the opposite (oncoming) direction. The above stimulates the driver to move in his lane and, thus, reduces the likelihood of the vehicle leaving the oncoming lane, which increases traffic safety, reduces the number of road traffic accidents with serious consequences. In addition, when moving in the opposite direction due to the artificial unevenness of section 2, the vehicle will undergo greater destruction, which will also stimulate the driver to comply with traffic rules.
Artificial irregularities are usually arranged with a crest height from 0.01 m to 0.03 m in some sections of the road that are most dangerous from the point of view of safety. Given the above layers, forming the height of the ridge, to ensure a smoother collision of the vehicle on artificial roughness can be arranged with a smaller thickness.
The method of operation of the road is that the movement of vehicles is carried out on the above road.
