Abstract

Inventia se refera la un catalizator de argint, folosit la obtinerea oxidului de etilena prin oxidarea etilenei cu oxigen, care contine, pe un suport de alumina, argint, un metal alcalin si eventual un metal cu rol dopant, caracterizat prin aceea ca, în scopul cresterii activitatii si selectivitatii, contine pe un suport de alfa-AL<sub>2</sub>O<sub>3</sub>, având o suprafata specifica cuprinsa între 0,01 si 10 m<sup>3</sup>/g, de preferinta 0,1 ... 3 m<sup>2</sup>/g, 1 ... 30 % în greutate, de preferinta 5 ... 20 % în greutate argint 0,01 ... 15, de preferinta 0,2 ... 5 mmoli/kg de catalizator reniu, 10 ... 3000 parti/milion, de preferinta 50 ... 1000 parti/milion, dintr-un metal ales dintre, potasiu, sodiu, rubidiu, cesiu, litiu, molibden, wolfram, crom, mangan, vanadiu si 0,2 ... 5 milimoli/kg sulf, raportul dintre reniu si argint fiind mai mic de 1.
