Abstract

Oppfinnelsen angår anvendelse av intravenøse kontrastmidler for projeksjonsmammografi og nye anordninger for projeksjonsmammografi. Oppfinnelsen angår derfor anvendelse av intravenøse kontrastmidler for fremstilling av et diagnostisk middel for projeksjonsmammografi. Ved den tilleggsvise intravenøse administrering av kontrastmiddel oppnår projeksjonsmammografien en sensitivitet sammenlignbar med de mest moderne fremgangsmåter, slik som magnetisk resonanstomografi (MRT) samtidig som den har et bredere spekter av applikasjoner og unngår kostnadene forbundet med MRT. Denne nye fremgangsmåte er enkel og kan utføres uten spesielle ubehag for pasientene. Den a) forbedrer betydelig sensitiviteten for å vise fokale lesjoner i brystet og b) frembringer tilleggsinformasjon med hensyn på egenskaper til tidligere påviste lesjoner.
