Abstract

Ionisk væske omfattende et dialkylsubstituert imidazoliumhalogenid hvor minst en av alkylsubstituentene har 6 karbonatomer eller fler, en fremgangsmåte for fremstilling av slike imidazoliumhalogenider, og anvendelse derav for hydro- karbonomdannelsesreaksjoner slik som oligomerisering eller polymerisering av olefiner og for alkylering av paraffiner, isoparaffmer eller aromater med olefiner. Polymerisering av C4 raffmater ved bruk av disse ioniske væskene som katalysatorer muliggjør at en mye høyere prosentandel av n-butener kan inkorporeres i produktpolymeren enn det som ville være mulig i konvensjo- nenelle kationiske polymerisasjonsprosesser.
