Abstract

Metodos y sistemas para regenerar y pretratar oxidos de manganeso y precipitacion de oxidos de manganeso de soluciones de sales de manganeso. Los oxidos de manganeso, una suspension que contiene oxidos de manganeso o soluciones de sales de manganeso son mezcladas con soluciones acuosas oxidantes calientes y procesados en un reactor de proceso continuo. La temperatura, presion, valor de Eh y valor de pH de la solucion mezclada son verificados y ajustados para mantener las condiciones de la solucion dentro del area de estabilidad del MnO2 durante el procesamiento. Esto da como resultado oxidos de manganeso pretratados y precipitados que tienen capacidades de carga de contaminantes y/o estados de oxidacion altas o incrementadas. Los oxidos de manganeso asi producidos son, entre otros usos; adecuados para usarse como sorbente para capturar o remover contaminantes especificos de flujos de gases industriales. Los flujos de proceso filtrados que contienen valor util y recuperable como iones espectadores pueden ser procesados adicionalmente para producir subproductos utiles y comerciales.
