Abstract

Предложены способы и системы обработки оксидов металлов из металлсодержащих растворов. Металлсодержащие растворы подвергаются смешиванию с нагретым водным окислительным раствором и обработке в обрабатывающем реакторе непрерывного действия или в обрабатывающей системе периодического действия. Комбинации температуры, давления, молярной концентрации, значения Eh и значения рН смешанного раствора контролируются и корректируются таким образом, чтобы поддерживать состояние раствора в пределах желаемой области стабильности в процессе обработки. Это обеспечивает получение оксидов металлов, имеющих высокие или повышенные коэффициенты загрузки загрязняющими веществами и/или состояния окисления. Такие оксиды металлов могут подвергаться обработке в соответствии с изобретением с целью получения соосажденных оксидов двух или более металлов, оксидов металлов, содержащих посторонние катионы, оксидов металлов, осажденных на активные и инертные подложки, или комбинаций любой или всех из этих форм. Полученные таким образом оксиды металлов пригодны, помимо прочего применения, для использования в качестве сорбента для улавливания или удаления целевых загрязняющих веществ из промышленных газовых потоков или из питьевой воды, или из водных потоков, или для применения в защитных респираторах персонального пользования.
