Abstract
La presente invencion se refiere a un proceso para formar un material que comprende una fase de M3X1Z2, que comprende los pasos de: a) proporcionar una mezcla de (1) al menos una clase de metal de transicion, (ii) al menos una clase de metal de cooperacion seleccionada del grupo que consiste de clases de aluminio, clases de germanio y clases de silicio y (iii) al menos una clase no metalica del grupo que consiste de clases de boro, clases de carbono y clases de nitrogeno; b) calentar la mezcla a una temperatura de aproximadamente 1000 degree C hasta aproximadamente 1800 degree C en una atmosfera dentro de una zona de calentamiento sustancialmente encerrada durante un tiempo suficiente para formar la fase M3X1Z2; en donde la atmosfera tiene una presion parcial de O2 de no mas de aproximadamente de 1 x 10-6 atm. El proceso proporciona un material sustancialmente monofasico que comprende muy poco de la fase MZX. Un proceso para preparar una pieza de trabajo densa, substancialmente monofasica de fase M3X1Z2, incluye proporcionar una pre-forma en polvo de fase M3X1Z2 altamente pura y sinterizar la preforma a una temperatura de aproximadamente 1000 degree C hasta aproximadamente 1800 degree C en una atmosfera dentro de una zona de calentamiento sustancialmente encerrado, durante un tiempo suficiente para formar una pieza de trabajo densa de fase M3X1Z2, sustancialmente monofasica, donde la atmosfera tiene una presion parcial e O2 de no mas de aproximadamente de 1 x 10-6 atm.
