Abstract

Se describe un proceso para remover o eliminar una capa de oxido de acero inoxidable, utilizando una solucion acuosa que contiene peroxido de hidrogeno y un ácido inorgánico, es decir, ácido clorhídrico o sulfurico. Una tira (10) de acero inoxidable rolada en caliente o recocida, cubierta con una capa deoxido, se sumerge en un ácido inorgánico caliente contenido dentro de tanques de desoxidacion (12) y (14). Posteriormente, la tira puede tener cantidades residuales de una capa de oxido (11) firmemente adherente. Esta capa de oxido se activa por una solucion que contiene el ácido inorgánico y peroxido de hidrogeno aplicado a la tira por ejemplo mediante una cabeza (16) de aspersion que se extiende completamente de manera transversal y que se coloca por encima de la tira, y otra cabeza (18) de aspersion que se extiende de manera completamente transversal y que se coloca debajo de la tira. Puede ser deseable hacer pasar la tira activada a través de ácido inorgánico caliente nuevamente y reactivar la tira a velocidad de línea muy elevada para asegurar la remocion completa de la capa de oxido de la tira. Cualquier peroxido de hidrogeno de la aspersion que gotea de la tira se recolecta en una charola (30) de recoleccion y fluye a un tanque (28). De manera preferible, la solucion acuosa gastada recolectada que contiene el ácido inorgánico y el peroxido de hidrogeno gastado se desechan en los tanques de desoxidacion. La solucion acuosa ayuda en la remocion o eliminacion de cualquier capa de oxido residual y manchas que permanezcan en la tira para de esta manera mejorar la limpieza de la tira desoxidada.
