Abstract
Se describe un proceso para la desulfuración de aceite de petróleo que comprende la etapa de diluir el aceite de alimentación con un solvente orgánico adecuado antes de la reacción de desulfuración. El solvente orgánico se selecciona de alcanos, alquenos, alquenos cíclicos y alquinos, y particularmente se selecciona de n-hexano, ciciclohexano, heptano, penteno, hexeno, hepteno, octeno, tolueno y xileno. La concentración del solvente en la mezcla de aceite de alimentación y solvente está en el intervalo de 0.1-70%.
