Abstract

La presente invención se refiere a microorganismos que comprenden uno o más polinucleótidos que codifican para enzimas en una o más trayectorias que catalizan una conversión de una fuente de carbono fermentable a butadieno. También se proporcionan métodos de uso de microorganismos en procesos industriales, que se incluyen, para uso en la producción de butadieno y productos derivados de los mismos. Un microorganismo genéticamente modificado, caracterizado porque comprende uno o más polinucleótidos que codifican para enzimas en una trayectoria que cataliza un conversión de una fuente de carbono fermentable a uno o más intermediarios en una trayectoria para la producción de butadieno y uno o más polinucleótidos que codifican para enzimas en una trayectoria que cataliza una conversión de uno o más intermediarios a butadieno, en donde uno o más intermediarios en la trayectoria para la producción de butadieno es crotonil-CoA, y en donde todas la enzimas se requieren ya sea de (i) crotonil-CoA reductasa (bifuncional) (E.C. 1.1.1), y deshidratasa de alcohol crotonílico (E.C. 4.2.1, 4.2.1.127) o (ii) crotonaldehído deshidrogenasa (E.C.1.2.1), deshidrogenasa de alcohol crotonílico (E.C.1.1.1, 1.1.1.1), y deshidratasa de alcohol crotonílico (E.C. 4.2.1, 4.2.1.127).
