Abstract
La presente invención se refiere a un artículo abrasivo caracterizado porque comprende: una base; un elemento abrasivo que incluye partículas abrasivas unidas a una matriz de metal, el elemento abrasivo comprende además una red de poros interconectados sustancialmente llena con un infiltrante que comprende un material infiltrante de metal; una región de respaldo entre el elemento abrasivo y la base, la región de respaldo comprende una composición de unión que incluye al menos un elemento metálico, la región de respaldo es una región distinta de la base y una región distinta del elemento abrasivo; y en donde el artículo abrasivo tiene una resistencia media a la ruptura en la región de respaldo de al menos aproximadamente 600 N/mm2 y una variación de la resistencia a la ruptura no superior a aproximadamente 150.
