Abstract

Se describen sistemas de suministro de fármaco tópicos para uso oftálmico incluyendo formulaciones nanomicelares mezcladas de fármacos insolubles en agua y métodos para tratar las enfermedades que afectan los segmentos oculares posteriores. En una modalidad, una solución oftálmica acuosa incluye nanomicelas en una solución amortiguadora fisiológicamente aceptable, que tiene un pH de 5.0 hasta 8.0, en donde el corticosteroide a una concentración desde alrededor de 0.01% p/v hasta alrededor de 1.00 % p/v se solubiliza a través del atrapado en un núcleo hidrofóbico micelar mezclado con una corona compuesta de cadenas hidrofílicas que se extienden desde el núcleo hidrofóbico, en donde las nanomicelas comprende vitamina E TPGS a una concentración en el intervalo desde alrededor de 3.0 % p/v hasta alrededor de 5.0% p/v estabilizada con octoxinol-40 a una concentración en el intervalo desde alrededor de 1.0 % p/v hasta alrededor de 3.0 % p/v.
